Retired teacher, moved from Maine to Kentucky in 2007 to enjoy the mild winters. Now heavily interested in history and genealogy of the Boyle-Casey county area since I have a cemetery in my back yard (May #1, Boyle County). Also president of the Boyle County Genealogical Association, charter member of the Oakland (Maine) Area Historical Society, and member of the African-American Genealogy Group of Kentucky, Kentucky Historical Society, and Kentucky Genealogical Society, and the newly-formed Danville Boyle County (KY) African American Historical Society.|
Additions to any memorials I have posted will be reviewed and cheerfuly accepted unless I have solid reasons for not doing so. I will NOT post obituaries of RECENT deaths out of respect, nor will I post names of living relatives, out of privacy.
Transfers are also willing made, preferably to relatives, but not necessarily. If we're all working on this together, YOU may have more time and info than I have.

Hi. There is another memorial for him, made earlier, with his obituary shown. I see a lot of your Memorials. You are doing a fantastic work even tho'you are from "up east".Or maybe the correct word in "down "east" Great to have you with us in Ky . I just met another gentleman and his wife who migrated into Ky. from Maine.

Hi Mike, do you have any information on this paticular individual? He would be part of my family, however we've been unable to locate his place of burial and Rhoda Kelley who is mentioned on his page would in fact be his mother. Thanks!

This particular Soaper grave is exactly where I said it was. The stone is there. The cemetery may be elsewhere, but the stone is there. This Soaper was a member of the black calvary

Is Newell Ray, Jr possibly the son of Newell Ray #22397435 & Wanda Sue #23366672 Mondie? All are buried in the same cemetery. Have a great day. Nancy
Thank you very much for the photo. I appreciate your time and effort.
|Jamie Marshall||RE: McClanahan|
He was born in 1844 in Tipton, Tennessee.
|Jamie Marshall||John McClanahan|
I was wanting to update the information on Pvt John D. McClanahan that is buried in the Perryville cemetery. If you go to the Perryville Battlefield website you can click on a link to find the casualties of the battle. It has John listed as being killed on 10/8/1862. I am working on my family heritage and tracing my ancestors back to when they came to America. I was told that he is one of my distant relatives. If I am able to find the information on him, I will give you the birth date and any other information that may be available.

Do you happen to know if the Mary Austin Mosher listed on this memorial had a sister named Phebe Austin? If memory serves me correctly, one of my ancestors, Robert Lindley Knowles, was married to a Phebe Austin...any clues you might have would be appreciated!
