Ever since I can remember, I have had a fascination with cemeteries. There was one right down the street from our school, we used to walk through it often, It was so peaceful and the monuments were so beautiful. My father Calvin Russell Swallow is buried there now. My sister Mel and I have gone back to Massachusetts and other New England States and explored the cemeteries looking for ancestors. Genealogy and searching cemeteries for family has been a treasured time with my sister. What a gift it is to have a sister to share your interests with.|
I am hoping to make connections with distant cousins and share pictures and stories. I have posted many branches to our tree to do this.
I AM VERY LIBERAL WITH TRANSFERING MEMORIALS. MY PHOTOGRAPHS ARE FOR EVERYONE (COPY THEM AT YOUR PLEASURE) AND I FEEL NO SENSE OF OWNERSHIP OVER MEMORIALS THAT ARE NOT MY FAMILY. I LOVE DOCUMENTING GRAVES. I AM SOMEWHAT OFFENDED BY THOSE WHO DO NOT SHARE THAT SENSE OF GIVING. WE GET NO POINTS IN HEAVEN BY HOW MANY MEMORIALS WE CONTRIBUTED TO FINDAGRAVE. THERE ARE MANY FINE CONTRIBUTORS TO FIND A GRAVE AND A FEW THAT NEED TO GET OVER THEMSELVES. Remember...."God Loves a Cheerful Giver"!!
A POEM FROM ALL OF US AVID GENEALOGIST'S!!
Your tombstone stands among the rest; neglected and alone. The name and dates are chiseled out on polished, marble stone. It reaches out to all who care; it is to late to mourn. You did not know that I exist; you died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you in flesh, in blood, in bone. Our blood contracts and beats a pulse not entirely on our own. Dear Ancestor, the place you filled one hundred years ago. Spreads out among the ones you left who would have loved you so.
I wonder as you lived and loved, I wonder if you knew that someday I would find this spot, and come to visit you. - Walter Butler Palmer 1906

|EveyBl||James Trowbridge #24296051|
Hi, I posted a photo of the First Settlers of Newton monument to this memorial, and I highlight James Trowbridge in the description (see caption on image). You might want to rearrange the images so that his headstone appears first with the monument appearing second. I also wanted to give you a heads up about the Coat of Arms image you posted. The F-A-G rules for images changed in 2012, and they now prohibit those types of images. You can even get locked out of your memorials for posting them! (I know this first hand...) So, you probably should delete that one. You can read the "new" rules via the "Help With Find A Grave" tab. I just wanted to give you a heads-up so you don't experience the same heartache I did over images! All the best, Evey :-)

|Bobbi Harrison||Rosa Bell Harrison Whitley|
Rosa Bell Harrison Whiteley was NOT a daughter of my husband's great-great-grandfather, John Harrison (1805-1861). Nor was he ever married to Emily Spangler Betts So she was not a sibling to James Harrison, Mary Harrison Holtsclaw, George Washington Harrison or my husband's great-grandfather, Edward Paxton Harrison. Someone has added these two females to our line incorrectly.
There were 3 distinctly, unrelated Harrison family lines in Hancock County in the same time period and someone has gotten confused and incorrectly added Rosa and her mother Emily to my husband's family line. So how do we get them removed from our family member memorials?
Hello Star. Thank you for all of your wonderful work on Find A Grave! Could you kindly transfer Lyman and Mary Cate (Find A Grave Memorial# 32256189 and 32256203) to me (#47507075)? They are from my home town and I am doing research on them and would like to add more info. (and be able to edit it later) which will be easier if I can manage them.
Thank you so much!

|Shelly Kilbury||Ethel Connor Johnson|
This was my paternal great grandmother. She and Charles adopted a little girl known as Ruth H. Johnson married name Kilbury born Feb 1906. I know nothing at all about my grandmother Ruth's back story and birth parents. There is a sister? named Genevieve Samuelson (I have found her parents) who married a Ray Johnson. I am not sure really what her real relationship was but my grandmother called her her sister. I am trying to build a family tree on WikiTree and can go no further without information on that branch of my birth father. Anyone that has any stories or information, I would be eternally grateful. Thank you!

I was hoping you could review edits these so these children could be tied to their parents.
|Lyn Cohen||Clifton Lafrenier|
Clif's wife's information is given as
WIFE: Lillian P. Warrington, daughter of Harold R. Morrison and Helen M. Morrison.
Lillian's parents were Harold Warrington and Ellen Mae Morrison (known as Mae). Harold R. Warrington was her brother.
Clif and Lillian were my parents, and Harold and Mae were my grandparents.
Could you make this correctin?
Thanks very much,
|Lyn Cohen||Lillian P Warrington LaFrenier|
The correct listing for her mother is Ellen Mae Morrison, known as Mae (not Helen M.). Lillian was my mother and Mae was my grandmother. Could you correct this?
|Lynette Johnston Duckworth||Francis Cowling Johnston|
Francis's husband, Carl R. Johnston, was my grandfather. I am the daugher of his oldest son, D. Lynn Johnston, by Carl's first marriage. I know my dad lived with Carl and Francis in the Rio Grande Valley and was living with them when he graduated from high school. I met Bettye Jayne and Raymond when I was a girl and have lost touch with them. Could you please tell me if they are still alive and if so, where they are living? Also, in Francis obit, it states that Carl and her had another son, William Paul Johnston. My dad never mentioned him. Is he still alive? Any information you can give me will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Lynette Johnston Duckworth

I did search for the book you had mentioned but couldn't find one that I could just review. Did you have a link you could review it from? Ross
|Ross A Peot||RE: Humphrey Johnson|
Thanks for that info. I will check it out.
