Bio Photo Maiden name is Sharon Rose Gallagher. Married Lee Roy Smith, 1963 and widowed in 1979. Lee was born Dec. 20, 1942 in Manchester, Clay Co KY. We had one son Todd Michael Smith and one daughter Staci Lee Smith (deceased). Re-married and had another daughter Kristin Loretta Shaffer.

I am into genealogy, so I thought I would document some of my info and many photo's here. Here is a picture in my much younger days, a senior in High School. I am now 70, and you wouldn't want to see one of those pics!!!

The Rooted Tree
George Lee
Hello Sharon

First, thank you for the transfer of George Lee's memorial. I am honored to have him in my family tree.

Secondly, have you researched your Rose lineage?
Does it have ties to KY?

Thomas J. & Lydia Berry
Thank you for the transfer of these memorials to me. I am researching my Berry family history and Thomas & Lydia are as far back as I have been able to go at this point. Thanks again!

Daisy Jackson 1917-1943
Sharon, I'm pretty pessimistic about asking you this and seeing any results... However, I would love to know if know of anyone, ANYWHERE... that might have a photo of Daisy Jackson. She was married to Woodson Jackson and she died at a very young age. She was my great grandmother and no one in our family has ever seen a photograph of her.

Thank you for working so hard on this site; it's been very informative and much appreciated. I'm not even sure if you still check on here, and I didn't think to check to see the dates of the comments before posting this one. If anyone happens to read this, and knows the whereabouts of a photo of Daisy, I would love to hear from you.

Polly Ann Smith Hubbard
Thank you Sharon for all of the many hours you so selflessly give so that many of us may find our long lost family. Through you I have been able to find some relation that I never would have found other wise. What a treat to talk to someone from Indianapolis that I had never met but to realize we were related meant the world to me.
I come from Benjamin Smith, Jesse J Smith Sr, Joseph Smith, Lucinda Smith, Merida Smith and Charles Smith was my father. I noticed you had a copy of the death certificate for Polly Hubbard. I never could quite make out the cause of death. Did it say" cancer of the breast"? My youngest sister and I have both had the BRAC genetic testing done but need more relatives to help make the results relevant to other family members.
If you or anyone else in the this Smith line know of members who have had cancer, particularly of the ovaries, uterus, cervix or breast please contact me.

Sharon, I see that you have done a lot of work (photos) for the Bingham line. Are you relate to the Bingham's or just very helpful? I am trying to connect with others researching the Bingham/Woolum lines. Thank you for all you do to aid in families connecting. Donna

Joy Nicholson Greengoss
Nancy Jane Smith Lipps
Hi Sharon,
My name is Joy Nicholson Greengoss. Nancy Jane Smith Lipps was also married to James Isaac Mills. There is a story in our family that she and James raised Susan Mills who was the daughter of John Bright. The only problem with that is I have DNA confirmation to both James and Nancy. I also have seen information that said Susan was the daughter of James and Nancy but can find no information listing her in any of the census records. I'm wondering if you have any information on them at all. My email is I'd appreciate any info. Thanks, Joy

John Smith b. 1787, my 5th great grandfather
Hi, Thomas Addison Morris Smith b. 1839 was my 2nd great grandfather. I knew his parents were John Addison Smith and Cynthia Floyd, and John Addison's father was named John, but that's all. I have been trying to find more information on these ancestors for almost 15 years! I was so excited to find Dan Hendrickson's tree. With this information, I was able to go back to Thomas Smith b.1710 (father of John Smith b.1752).Dan suggested I contact you. If you could, I would like to know what sources you used to find out John b.1752 (the father of John Smith b. 1787). Same question for Rebecca Jeffers. If possible I would like to find out other sources you may have on these families.

RE: Smith Cemetery's
You are absolutely correct that cemeteries having duplicate names is a headache. I'm pretty good at reading maps, so I can usually find one if someone gives me directions. I've been able to contact a lot of people who have photos of graves and get directions for the cemeteries. It's gonna take a while, maybe years... I'm tempted to try calling the funeral homes/historical society to see if they have directions for cemeteries that they would give me.
