I enjoy going to the cemeteries and looking for gravestones of my family and looking for requests for other people. It makes me sad to see some stones in bad shape and some cemeteries so overgrown with weeds and not taken care of. I work full time, but I try to get to the cemeteries on my days off when I can. I spend many hours looking for other members requests. I don't do it just to get the credit for a request, I have added more photos to memorials than what shows on my credit for doing requests. I really enjoy looking for the gravestones and it is very relaxing to me. I love the old cemeteries, but alot of the gravestones are very old and in bad shape. There is alot of information you can find out from a gravestone. |
Note: The Dement Cemetery in Ohio County, WV is a very old cemetery located on private property. Many of the stones are very difficult to read and some dates may not be exactly right. Let me know of any corrections.
I'm currently working on the Dallas Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Dallas, WV in Marshall County. This is another old cemetery with many old stones. Some of the names and dates may not be correct. Many of stones are difficult to read. Let me know of any corrections. I have found many gravestones of people that are not on the list in the cemetery books at the library or some with the names not correct. Peace to all!

Thank you so very much for the picture of Ernst and Elizabeth Barte tomb stone at Mt Wood Cemetery, Wheeling. This stone looks new. They must be fixing up the cemetery. I live in Pittsburgh, but maybe when the weather gets better I'll check out the cemetery. Thanks again, Maggie

That would be wonderful if you could take more pictures of the other Bashar's! Thank you! I think documenting graves is very important…people should be remembered, don't you think? Thanks again for your time and efforts!

You've done a wonderful job already. I noticed you also got photos of grave sites of others in the Wilson family whose memorials I don't manage. Great job. Thank you!
