Bio

Find A Grave has been an invaluable resource for my own family research and I am so grateful to all of the volunteers who have contributed to this site. My journey has taken me from my hometown of Lake Wales, Fl. to the frozen tundra of MN by way of AL, TX, CA, and WI. Returning to the South, NC is state #7. I am following the research of my great-great-grandmother, Lora S. LaMance, expanding and correcting her data.

I am very much against unknown burials as that is contrary to what the intention of this site was all about. The information contained in death records can be added in the biographical section without posting the actual record on a memorial. For me this is about where someone was buried, period, any other information is a treasure for researchers and certainly has been beneficial for my own research, but it is not necessary.

Many thanks to all those who have taken the time to create and photograph these memorials and for considering my edits. My research takes me on many fascinating journeys, a lot of times for people I am not related to, but once I've found their history it deserves to be shared.

I am hopeful that having this site will help preserve deteriorating markers and forgotten cemeteries so those that have come before us will never be forgotten.

At some date I entrust my memorials to #50394680.
