|This work has been a collaborative effort which began in 2004 and has been compiled jointly by colleagues, Wendell F. Lauth, Jennifer L. Neff and Pat Driscoll Wiant. |
Wendell and Jennifer descend from families who settled in the Connecticut Western Reserve (northeastern Ohio) in 1804. An interest in family history has prompted Wendell to study local history and genealogy, primarily for Trumbull and Mahoning Counties, since 1959 and Jennifer assumed the work and longtime interests of her father, Robert H. Neff, in 1998. Pat has been significantly involved in recording area history since 1993. We are all members of the Canfield Historical Society and our work is contributed on their behalf.
We have carefully researched our material but there is always a need for corrections and additions. For example, information such as birthdates have been calculated from headstone engravings, which is not the most accurate means.
Please do not hesitate to contact us and thank you for all the flowers and notes that have been added to the memorials.
It is important to note that Mahoning County Ohio was formed from parts of Trumbull and Columbiana Counties Ohio in 1846 so any dates prior to 1846 are actually found in their County records.
