Bio and Links
Bio Photo My DNA test results confirm what I felt was true.

I am a descendant of Samuel Whitney (circa 1615-1674) who came from England to the Bermuda Islands in the 1630's. His grandson Joshua later immigrated to Isle Of Wright, Virginia.

There are three principle immigrants who came to the United States in the 1600's

Each of the following have distinct y-dna marker differences.

John Whitney - Watertown, Massachusetts
Henry Whitney - Long Island, New York
Samuel Whitney - The Bermuda Islands

I, and my genetic cousin Tara have co-authored The Whitney Newsletter. The Whitney newsletter is intended to reach Whitney families in the United States. I want to connect every Whitney to their rightful immigrant.

Issue one was sent out this month 11/2011.
If you know of any Whitney families or their lineages please contact me. Take into consideration that I have studied countless Whitney lines. Do not trust everything you see on 50% (or more) of what you find about Whitney's is wrong, or absolutely provides no clues to the present for establishing contact with disconnected Whitney lines.

Virginia DeMarce
Richard H. Easley, d. 1878
You have a entry for the above man.

The date of birth listed is for a different Richard Easley. It belongs to Richard Easley, son of Daniel and Edith (Anderson) Easley, who was born in Halifax Co., VA, and settled in Fulton Co., IL. That Richard Easley married Richard Valentine. The mother, Edith Anderson, was from a Quaker family. Daniel Easley freed his slaves and took them to Harrison Co., OH. I have a lot of accumulated data on that different branch of the Easley family.

Barrier Cemetery
Hi, Grady! THANK YOU for YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS, here! They are very much appreciated, Sir.

I see you photographed a tombstone for the Barrier Cemetery in Omaha, Texas.

Was the marker illegible?

I am looking for a relative in this vicinity who passed away in 1879 - Olivia Green Burge - my GG Grandmother; thus, my curiosity.

Beautiful picture, by the way!

Any help you could provide would be much appreciated.

Minnie B. Pickens
Minnie Randolph married Houston Pickens in 1896. By 1910, they were divorced. He remarried by 1920 to Minnie D. I added a page for his second wife. Would you mind removing the photo from his first wife's page and post it on Minnie D.'s page? I appreciate your help. Thank you!

RE: Hobson
To answer your question truthfully- I don't know!
In this case I assume "Chass" would be referring to his given name Chasten.
With my limited search I was unable to find out anything about the son; we always wonder "what happened" when someone so young dies. There are many more questions than answers although sometimes an obit will give you some insight. Thanks for the link!
