Since childhood I have been fascinated with photos of persons of the past. When I moved to Maryland this easily translated to photos of grave sites. One day I stumbled on the findagrave website and have been on this adventure since. The requests allow me to visit places I never imagined as well as help familiarize myself with the geography and history of the area! What a plus for a relative newcomer. Professionally I am a nurse with an specialty in public health. The shorter life expectancies and causes of death that preceded us enhances my appreciation of the many advances made, now for our benefit.|

Thank you so much for adding the picture of my 3rd great grandfather and grandmother's grave. I was so exited to see it. I added it to my ancestry.com family tree but credited you with the photo. I hope that is acceptable. If not, please let me know and I will take it down. Once again, thank you for helping me find links to my past, it means a lot.

Thanks Judith for your picture, unfortunately I can't tell if he was a 194GIR, 17th airborne during the WW2 . I'm pretty certain he is the hero I look after , same name, same Birth year, same state ... If one day you find his obit could you contact me ?

I'm so thrilled to see the graves you photographed of Joseph T. and Annie Vane.
This is the only pictorials I have of my ancestor.
I was in that graveyard last year looking for his son John Alexander Vane (known as Alex or Aleck- from a first wife) but there didn't appear to be a headstone. Can you share with me the exact location? May go back and look again. Did you happen to notice any other Vanes?
I'm so thankful to you for this "find"!!
|Mary Vane||THANK YOU!!|
