Hello, My family and I get all our information right from the cemeteries we acutally go out and visit. Not from books, newspaper obits or funeral home obits. To us it is more fun to do what we call cemetery hunting, going out and finding them. We feel that everyone should be remember. They are our history. Anyone that wishes can use any of the pictures and information that I have posted.|

You are quite welcome for the photo. Mine Creek Cemetery is in need of a lot of TLC. Lots of damaged and destroyed stones and quite a few that are so old they cannot be deciphered. I don't see those repairs happening though, since it's not something that most folks care very much about. Glad you liked the pics.

You're quite welcome. Sorry we were not able to come up with better results. We also searched around his parents' graves in Georgetown, on the off-chance Mr. Allston's remains had been relocated, but we did not find anything to suggest that had happened.

|Lawrence Ulmer||Locate of Breland Cemetery|
Please changes the location of the Breland Cemetery from Smoaks to Ruffin. This cemetery is about one mile south of the Bethel United Methodist church where most of my family is buried.
Thank you for your help.

|Kaye Vensko||RE: Helen Toomer Jennings|
James Ancrum Simons, husband of Helen Toomer Jennings is my great grandfather. You asked about the name change. It happend somewhere between 1895, when James Ancrum Simons , a well known lawyer in Charleston South Carolina was charged with breach of trust with fraudlent intent (I have a copy of the newspaper article if you're interested) and 1900 where you can find the family in the United States Census, Sioux Falls South Dakota with the name Ballantyne, James Ancrum is deceased as Helen is a widow, I have been unable to find any legal name change. James's grandmother was Margaret Anderson Ballentine, which is where we feel the new last name originated although the spelling is different.
Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you, just wanted to get the papers out and verify the information I was giving you. I'm curious, who is your husband and the lineage to James Ancrum Simons? Feel free to contact me at email@example.com
