Bio and Links
Bio Photo I live in Ottawa County, Kansas. Some of the relatives are Boucek's, Srna's, Wolf's, Blaha's, Kunc's, Koller's, Brion's, Sechrist's, and Grace's on my mom's side.
On my dad's side are Smith's, Schmidt's, Gronewaller's, McKain's.

The profile picture is at the pasture, my favorite place. Located 2 miles south of the Bohemian Cemetery, 1 mile from the Bladwin Cemetery and 5 miles from the Fairview Cemetary in the heart of the Bohemian hills. This area is where ALL my mom's family settled in 1870's. I went to grade school in Ada and High School in Minneapolis. Now, I'm back HOME after 30 years away.

Correct Date of Balaun Immigration
The year the Joseph Balaun family sailed across the seas was 1866 not 1886. They gave birth to my grandfather (Peter) in 1870 in Allegheny PA and were settled in Kansas around 1875.

Joseph Balaun (sometimes Baloun)
He's my great grandfather, too. His first six children (Ignatius, Frank, Mary or Maria, Barbara, Johanna and Karoline) were born in Bohemia; the seventh (Albert) was born at sea. They had first sailed from Germany to Bergen, Norway, where they boarded the ship "Anna" for the six weeks journey to Quebec. At the first opportunity they moved to Pittsburgh where my grandfather, Peter Roman, was born, followed by Anna and John, before the family moved on to Ada, Kansas abt 1875.

Thanks for doing this work, connecting us all.

RE: Charles Boblett photo
Thanks for letting me know more about the stone for Infant Boblett. I emailed the contributor who has management of the memorials to link them to their parents.

Thanks again for photographing! Erin
