|It has been brought to my attention that I have added obituaries that should not have been added because they are more recent than the findagrave rules of 1923 to present need to be approved by those alive people mentioned in the obit. and/or by the newspaper or funeral home providing the obit. So, I am in the process of deleting... I do however, provide the information for those of you who are interested in finding the obit for the person you are researching. |
It is a free site;) http://condor.cmich.edu/cdm/search/collection
I am sorry if I have offended any of you by not having read the rules first.

|Mert Alexander||RE: Angeline Smith|
Hi: Maria Angeline ROBERTS was born 30 Sep 1838 in Delaware Co., NY and died 3 May 1904. She married Albert DuMont SMITH on 24 Dec 1888 in Shepherd, Isabella, MI. This was her third marriage. As far as I can determine, she had no children.

One Fairbanks I haven't been able to find is
Dennis Dexter Fairbanks Birth 4 Jul 1887 in Grant, Clare, Michigan. He is on the 1900 census but must have died between 1900 and 1902 when his mother died in 1902 as her obit said there are only 2 living children which would be Ben and Hazel which could be an error but I can't find any other record for him or mention in the paper nor a death certificate. If you should run across anything for him as I know your always digging around,I would much appreciate it if you let me know.

I didn't know this about the obit's for the most part for most of the people I have the persons in them have all passed. I usually type out the obits myself rather than the actual copy or I have also copied and pasted the link to the CONDOR newspaper I found it on or to where ever else I found them on line and also add the newspaper page I found the obit on to save time so I can find it again. What if the live persons names were just blacked out? I was going to give an example but CONDOR is not working tonight LOL. You would think once something is made public it would remain public like a phone number in the phone book.

His sister was Rebecca Marilla Jacobs. Their parents were Mary Ann Clymer & Joseph Jacobs. If you have any more info on that line I would love to know and will share what I have. Thanks for adding the newspaper article and death certificates for the Kellers. I've always wondered what type of accident had occurred.
Please feel free to add photos and obituaries to any of the memorials I manage. I think that the additional information makes the site even better.

I just happened upon the newspaper articles and obit you posted for my husband's 1st cousin 3x removed, James Brian FRIZZELL, who was killed in action during WW1's Battle of Argonne Forrest, FRANCE -Western Front.
Had it not been for a kind and generous volunteer like you we would never have known of James' service to his country during one of the worst battles of WW1. We are extremely GRATEFUL to you for taking the time to post this information so that others like ourselves can learn the story of such a brave young ancestor.
Bless all of you Find A Grave volunteers! You truly are all angels!!

|A84C72||Oh..and the obit thing!|
I never heard of that rule about the 1923-present date!! Yikes! Is that listed in the FAQs? I guess I always looked at it like if it's "privacy" someone wants, then they shouldn't be putting an obituary in the paper, on a funeral home website, or bury someone in a cemetery that's public. Makes sense, but then again, many people don't understand many of us transcribe to help others with their research. Interesting!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart!I have been looking for last names for my great uncles sisters(George Saxton of Clare,MI).Your clipping of the obituary gave me some clues as to where to look for Eliza Saxton-Bangs Of Techumseh,MI.George had 7 siblings and they are scattered from Farwell,MI to Techumseh,MI and the Battle of Malvern Hill,VA(1862).I keep wishing I had more clues on his parents origins.(John and Darinda Saxton of Techumseh,MI.John Died in 1863).Many thanks.
