I have been interested in genealogy for quite a few years now. I am not only researching my ancestral lineage, but my husband's and my siblings in-laws as well. I have put many memorial pages for all of these ancestral lines on FindAGrave.

I also have input many memorials from local cemeteries. I started adding them in hopes that I could help others in their quest for their ancestors. Anyone I input from Saline County, Kansas or a neighboring county are probably not related to me.

If you are related to any of the people that I have put into FindAGrave, I would love to hear from you. I will gladly accept additions/corrections/etc. to my information (help is always appreciated). If you are RELATED to someone I have input and would like to have their memorial transferred to you, send me a request via the 'edit' and then 'suggest correction' link on the memorial page. Be sure to include your FindAGrave user ID in your request so that I can transfer it to you. Please send a separate request for each memorial you want transferred. Find A Grave rules allow us 30 days to complete transfer requests. I will not transfer a memorial if your request does not include the following; 1) a link to the memorial page you want transferred, 2) your Find A Grave user ID, and 3) the reason you want the memorial page transferred. I don't have time to search for the memorial and then search for your user ID so that I can transfer it. If you want it, make it effortless for me. DO NOT SEND REQUESTS TO LINK FAMILY MEMBERS WHO ARE ALREADY LINKED!

RE: Death City
Your name was on the site listing his name. I just thought you transcribed the graveyard or was a relative. Sorry

RE: Bertha Hortiz
There's no marker for Bertha or her family. I'm going to include a picture of the general area-for what thats worth. The Lithebury-Welch stone seen to the right of the picture is plot #238. One Albert Wm. Other is in an unmarked, single grave #239 so the Domenick Marty plot #240 including Bertha Horitz should be the end plot by the road. The first stone in the next row is Kissel #241. Hope this helps.

RE: Bertha Hortiz
I don't think Bertha has a headstone but I'll double check now that I know the people around her.

I just wanted to let you know I screwed up. I thought you meant Section 1 of Gatewood rather than "I" so I put a picture up & then took it down when I saw the error but it wiped out your request if that matters. I'll be there tomorrow and try to find Bertha for you. I'll let you know what I find. Dan Barnidge

Find a Grave photos
I am writing a two-volume book on the 8th Indiana. I would like to include photos of the soldiers and their headstones with their biographies. I would like to use some of your photos in the book and will give you credit in the caption for each photo. If you are interested, I can let you know when the book is published. If it is ok to use your photos, could you also give me your first and last name for the captions?

Bessie Montgomery
I wanted to let you know I was at Gatewood today. Mrs. Montgomery does not have a grave marker. Her grave is B1, 115 in the Old Picker's section on the south side of Gravois Rd. The existing cemetery road is shaped like letter "P". Originally, it was shaped more like an "R" I guess but that lower leg that came down between Blocks I & II is gone. The single graves ran alongside that road. Mr.George Groat is buried in B1, 114. His grave is marked with a flat stone. The top of Mrs. Montgomery's grave would be 10-12ft north of there. She would be about the same distance to the right of a flat bronze marker for Ernest Moore Sr who died in 1986 but isn't list in online records and about 10-12ft to the left of a block of red granite for August Ottens. Mr. Groat's marker is near the red granite Lohrum family monument.

Saline Co. Charles lamkin Civil War Soldierr
May I use the govt. marker photo that you contributed to the memorial page for Charles Lamkin, to post on the Vermont Civil war site? ( www.vermontcivilwar.org)

You will receive credit for this.
Thank you for your consideration.

Hi I saw your photo request and wanted to let you know what I saw. I know where Mrs. Montgomery's grave is but its not marked do you still want a picture of the area? If you visit the site She is in the old Picker's portion of Gatewood on the south side of Gravois Rd. If you want the exact location I'll gladly send it along.
Cheers,
