I have been working on genealogy for about 25 years. I just found out about Find A Grave a few months ago. What a handy tool this is. I enjoy going around to different cemeteries looking at all the old headstones, and taking pictures for people who might not every see the headstonesof there ancestors if someone didn't take pictures for them.|
If anyone finds an error, please let me know and I will correct it. Also anyone who would like to add something, I can also do that for you.
For over 15 years I have been seriously researching my Gibbons family, with a beginning origin in South Carolina (Joseph Franklin Gibbons 1839 and still searching for information prior to that), also researching the Paris family (Rhoda Catherine Paris) from Spartanburg, South Carolina and the Giles families from that area.
From there the search has taken me into Harlan and Bell Counties in Kentucky, and surrounding counties in VA & TN, later on to Rockcastle and Lincoln Counties in KY also. In KY families that connect with our Gibbons are: Fee's, Green, Burkhart, Hensley, Wynn, Wilson and more.
My grandfather Andrew Jackson Gibbons was born in SC, was raised and married Margaret Fee in Harlan County KY. They raised their family in Lee Co. VA. Andrew Jackson Gibbons brothers are, James Giles, John Giles, Spurgeon Gibbons, Willie Gibbons, Campbell Gibbons, Frank Gibbons II and Nathan Gibbons. No known sisters.
If anyone has information of any of these families I would be very appreciative of anything you are willing to share.
I am also working on a register for Rose Hill Cemetery in Robinson, Kansas.

The memorial you have for Jessie Warren Naylor has her listed buried at Union Cemetery in Rockport MO. I wondered if you had the correct Union Cemetery. I noticed she passed in PA, I wondered if you meant a Union Cemetery in PA. I go to the Union Cemetery in Rock Port and no one has been buried there for over 75years.

Hi Vernon, thanks so much for linking her so quickly!

I am so happy to find this. I hope you wont mind if i add his headstone photo to my family tree, with the photo credited to you.
|Gary Stafford||Ruth DuBois|
We do not have a record of Ruth DuBois being buried in the Easton Cemetery. Nobody kept records years ago so the only records we have now are the grave stones or other verification by family members. Ruth could very well be buried there and no stone was ever put up. If you have an obituary or other verification that she was buried there I would sure like to have it so we can update our records. Is DuBois her maiden name or married name, if she was ever married.
When posting photos on my memorials, please put from where you got them. Otherwise, you are taking credit for owning them. You have "stolen" the photos. At least, when I post photos I give credit to where I got them.

|Larry & Nancy Brooks||Edit update|
Did you realize that Find A Grave is now giving us an opportunity to edit certain information. I didn't realize it until a member pointed it out to me. Look in the upper right hand corner of your home page where it says "edit". I have sent an edit to you for Mabel Caldwell. You will need to click "accept". Sorry if you already know about this. Nancy
|Pat Kaszubowski - Thomas||Memorials without dates|
A friend and I are entering names on Find A Grave from Evergreen Cemetery in Alpena, MI. I am sorry that some do not have dates. Because the records stated the person was deceased we felt it was ok to generate a memorial for that person.
As we work at this project we both have put our genealogy research aside to get the information added.
We do not mean to offend any guidelines but want to see the records get added so that researchers will be able to find their family members.
This site has been so helpful to me while I was researching my family from out of state. It is such an awesome contribution that so many people have made to help others that I wanted to be a part of it.
I do understand what you are saying and hope other people will be kinder with their words.
Thank you and others for all that they contribute to findagrave.com.
Your rude comments to other Find A Grave members has been reported to the Find A Grave higher ups. There is no reason for this kind of behavior. You have never left me a message personally, but I have seen the message you left on dozens of other members profiles. I hope everyone you have left that message for chooses to report you and I hope Find A Grave blocks your ugliness. You need to follow the Find A Grave rules that you like to quote. You have duplicates that you refuse to remove and tons of memorials with no dates. Why must you be so rude to everyone? Name calling is juvenile. I will pray for you.
