I became interested in genealogy several years ago and recently retired and it has become a bit of a passion. I am building on excellent research done by my father about 20 years ago so I had a running start. |
Please check the Orphan Virtual Cemetery for those who are not in my family tree. These folk need to be reunited with their families.
If you are a distant relative and find anything that I have posted, please feel free to copy for your own use. I have collected quite a bit of documentation and I am happy to share with others working on the same relatives. The collection has been a labor of love and if I can save anyone a few steps, I'm thrilled to do it. If you are descended from anyone on my memorials, please let me know. I'd be glad to transfer anyone who is not in my direct line so you can honor your family member. And I may be able to direct you to other well documented family trees I am aware of. Plus, I love meeting distant relatives I never knew about and together we have been able to solve many mysteries. Amazing how the pieces are so spread out and fit so well when they come together.

Thank You...it is a lovely page

I'm sorry you declined to link Elizabeth to her father. You might want to check the 1825 will of James Martin in Columbia Co., Ga. where he names his children. One daughter is Elizabeth, wife of Owen West. I have a copy of this will. The memorial for James Martin is not mine.
Thanks for placing her nice memorial.

|Margaret Jenstad||Ann Barnard in Hope Cemetery|
My gg-gm, Ann Barnard, is buried in Hope Cemetery, Sioux Co IA. Her entry mentions only two of her children. As stated in the estate papers of a Barnard relative in England, money was bequeathed to her deceased husband Indoe Barnard (in which she was required to state the death date of Indoe), and the money was passed along to her and her children, who were: Amelia Ellen (m. John Betterton), Mary (m. Preston H. Grant), Martha (m. Jessie Hogate), and James Henry (m. Jessie M. Case).
The reason that James Henry is not in the family household in the 1860 census is that he was instead enumerated in the household of James and Martha Davis, his grandparents (parents of Ann Davis Barnard), who are living in the same township as Ann, and her second husband, David E. Hall. Ann had a 5th child, Frederick W. Hall, from this second marriage.
Didn't know if you were interested in this additional info, but thought I'd send it along.
