Bio and Links
Bio Photo My husband Melvin* and I have been active in our own family genealogies for about 35 years and active in Sumner County, Kansas history and genealogy for almost 30 years. His roots are in the Milan area and mine in the Conway Springs area. We read, recorded and made books for the Milan Cemetery, the Spring Hill Cemetery and the Amish Cemetery in 2000, the Conway Springs Cemetery and the St. Joseph Cemetery in 2002, and the Mulvane Cemetery in 2005. We also enjoy doing lookups from the many transcriptions and databases we have done regarding Sumner County history and families.
I welcome being contacted about any errors found in the records I've posted and I will be happy to transfer ownership of memorials to those who are family members (or closer family members) of the deceased.
*Melvin passed away on April 7, 2009, so I'll be carrying on by myself now. We were married on May 28, 1950.

Hello from one of Melvin's cousins
Hi, Della,

I'm so sorry to read about Melvin's passing. He sounds to have been a wonderful and generous soul. It must be at least 20 years ago that we first corresponded (hand written and mailed with a stamp) about the Putman-Shafer connection. It was so exciting to be the first ones to do the research - way before it became an obsessive American pastime. Anyway, I'm still at it and hope you are well and enjoying life and your family. Regards..... Judy

Transfer of Memorials
Della - I am requesting the transfer of several Memorials you manage. They are my Great Great & Great Great Great Grandparents & Aunt's gravesite in the Pioneer Cemetery in Wellington KS.
They are:

Benjamin Hainsworth & his wife Anne Atkinson Hainsworth - who were the original Hainsworth immigrants for our family line from England!

Two of their children are also buried next to them-
Rebecca Hainsworth &
Craven Hainsworth (my Great Grandfather).

My father is deceased, so my generation is the closest living relatives in Wellington & I am the only one of my siblings active on Find A Grave.

Thank you, Jane A (Hainsworth) Norris

Rebecca Buckingham Watkins
Hello, while looking for information on the 1903 Eddyville flood I came across another write-up on Rebecca Buckingham Watkins ( Find A Grave Memorial# 31794820 ). While it is simular to what you have there is some difference. If you would like, I can email you a PDF of the newspaper page.

Best regards

RE: Craven Hainsworth
Just got a message from Jane Hainsworth Norris, She said that Craven and Eliza got divorced so they were buried in different cemeteries.

Craven Hainsworth
I was doing corrections on Craven Hainsworth and his wife Eliza Adella Hainsworth. Are you sure that Craven is in Wellington Pioneer cemetery. His wife is in Prairie Lawn Cemetery she died in 1933 and he died in 1937. The person that transferred him to you was probably the person that put him in that cemetery.
