|I love spending time with my family and doing genealogy. (Tetreault, Deneault, Racette, Schmidt, Richard, Giroux, Dyson, Miller, Blochlinger) just to name a few)|
A Cemetery is a history of people, a perpetual record of yesterday and a sanctuary of peace today.
A Cemetery exists because every life is worth loving and remembering always.
THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY
By Thelma Greene Reagan
Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where other cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.
Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.
Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.
Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.
Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.
Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.
Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marble stone.
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder how you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

|Cheryl White||links to send you|
Maureen, I recently had a patron at the KSHS give me an envelope of clippings of obits from burials in Cloud County. Many are people that you have made pages for. So, I'm going to be sending you links for parents for those not already on the page.
|Sue Henry||Hannah Pilcher|
Maureen, Thank you for the obit for baby Hannah Pilcher, I have added it to her memorial. Thank you again, and I apologize for it taking me so long in getting it in. Sue

|Cheryl White||Joseph Teasley, Glasco|
Thanks for the links for Joseph's parents, and for the other Glasco links you've sent recently. Maybe this is a sign that I need to "leave" SE Kansas and work on my Glasco people again.
|Paul Sutton Kamalsky||Spring Lake Cemetery|
Photos of the gravestones of Kenneth and Alice Grey, Emma Cole
and Nancy Jennie Douglas were posted to their memorials
The photo for Alice to her memorial under the name Alice Grey
