For a Christmas present, I decided to give my daughters and niece a photo album of relatives for a keepsake. When I visited a family cemetery to take photos of markers, I felt surrounded by a lot of love. Everywhere I looked, there were babies who never grew to be an adult. There was my great grandfather, then a great-great grandfather, and the more I dug into the census and the more questions I asked, the more familiar these people became to me. A relative came up with a family tree, tracing our Warren family back to England. I found a great grandfather near my grandfather in a cemetery that the family had visited so many times but no one had ever noticed him. Everyone has been to visit him, now, paying the respects that were long overdue. Beside him, his wife, three sons and a daughter are buried. |
I enjoy going to different cemeteries in our area and putting families together. The babies who have no parents with them catch my attention. When I list them, I hope someone finds them and adds them to their family. If I list someone who isn't a family member, I check out the census and our local history books to see if I can find something out about them. My mother has been a tremendous help, as she can recall so many details about these people and the life they lived. My husband has been there with me, wading through stickers, mosquitoes and the Texas heat.
If I have made any mistakes, please let me know. If I have listed your family member, I will be glad to transfer them and let you add them to your listings. I know how important family is to family. Speaking of family, I am researching the Warren , Knapp, Peace, Boydstun, (Boydston), French, Barnett, Carroll and Brim families and families of Navarro Co., Texas.

I hope things are well for you and your family. We've probably exchanged emails but I wanted to thank you for all your contributions. I see your name all over the Cryer Creek Cemetery - FindAGrave and we appreciate your time and effort.
I'm currently President of the Cryer Creek Cemetery Assoc and wanted to invite you and others to our Annual meeting. The meeting is scheduled for May 22nd (3;00PM) at the Cemetery. By that time I hope to have most of the New Plot Survey complete. As you may or may not know, our plot survey was lost sometime ago. Starting over is a lot of WORK!!! Nonetheless, I'm happy to do it as I find it interesting and on occasions get to meet great people like yourself. If you can't make the meeting I completely understand but please spread the word as I would love to get more people involved and serve on our Board.
Blessing to you and yours,
|Colleen Buchanan Blasingame||RE: Mickey Burleson|
Thanks so much Karen.

Hi Karen, I just added a photo to my great grandmother's memorial, I was going through some pictures and found it, My mother sent it to me several years ago before she died, My mother called her "Granny" as she was her father's mother. So we are related, but I do not know how,

You have photographed some tombstones of some distant relatives. I would like to add them to their records at Ancestry.com. May I have your permission to do so? I will, of course, credit you with taking the photographs. Thank you.

Are you related to Robert Hugh Middleton? I am trying to find the parents of Winnie Louise (Middleton) Hayes Simmons. The 1930 Navarro Co TX census shows that Robert Hugh and Gertie had a daughter named Winnie L., but she was b ca 1823, while my Winnie was born 3 Nov 1914 in Purdon, Navarro County, Texas. Winnie is actually an ancestress of my daughter-in-law. Any help would be appreciated. She was first married to Mont Hayes, then to a Simmons. Her tombstone, which is Hayes, says Winnie Simmons on it, even though a double stone with Mont Hayes. Thanks.

Thank you ever so much for the transfer!

Karen, could you please transfer this memorial for William Hill to me? He is related to my husband, the son of this gguncle.
Your work is greatly appreciated.

I am afraid you posted a memorial for a duplicate which was already posted. He was William Grover Warren, married Virda/Virder Ramey, and he was always known as Grover. His son Less Warren married my Aunt Harweda Tynes. The other memorial for William Warren #30631853 was posted 2008. That memorial has a bit of biography, but yours has the photo. It causes confusion for others like me trying to link their children to them. By Findagrave rules, the first memorial takes precedence, and the later memorial (yours) should be deleted. I do wish you could contact the other member and "findaway" to amicably merge the memorials. Barbara Tynes Claiborne
