Let us not forget
those who came before us -
however long or brief,
touch us all in so many ways
Let us learn
from those who came before us -
however exciting or mundane,
have shaped our world today
Let us honour
those who came before us -
however great or small,
is ours to carry forward
A novel idea for those who don’t quite understand the concept of politeness:
Why don’t you bottle it until such time as your name appears in the heading of one of these pages?
Then those of us who can still hear you
Can ignore you for a while longer
Get a life!
Quit bugging me!
So last year!
Try these -
Oops! I'll fix that!
Consider it done!
These, if accompanied by the appropriate actions,
are sure to wake the dead.
(Or at least it'll let the dead be found.)
Try it - you will be devastated at the results.
I send edit requests based on the one or more of the following criteria:
Findagrave Guidelines (consider them “rules”)
Information available in the posted picture(s)
The English/German language common practices
Personal research (yes, I do have sources)
If my edit request doesn’t seem correct, please check the above-listed points before declining the request. If, after this, you still feel the need to decline the request, a polite explanation would be appreciated. Thank you.
Bear this in mind;
What goes on the web is there, somewhere, for ever, for whoever chooses to find it.
So, if you choose to be rude to me, you may indeed upset me for a short while
But the whole world (and possibly your grandchildren) will know you for the sad bunnie you are.
Do you really want to risk that sort of immortality?
Yes – I send out edit requests
Yes – I send out thousands of edit requests
Maybe I sent one to you
Maybe I sent dozens to you
Thank you for making the change
Thank you for making all the changes
If I sent you a handful of the same corrections
This is where you stop and think
"There's a distinct possibility that I uploaded
quite a few more like these -
Maybe I should take a while and check my data and fix the rest so that my hard work is not floating in cyberspace where it can't be found!"
To which my answer would be "Bless your cotton socks – thank you!"
My Last FindAGrave Will and Testament!
If I die before I wake
I beg my spouse these pages to take
To lovingly tend through thick and thin
And safely keep the memories therein
But if my spouse should groan in pain
I trust my sproggs will take the rein
There's cousin Pat - She'll help because
They're nice like that down there in Oz
To all you budding gravers out there
Keep up the good work and don't despair
Remember your efforts are always appreciated
Even when thanks is thinly reciprocated
Bear in mind my efforts at poetry stink
But the message is clear I hopefully think
A d'base is only as good as the input
So for goodness sake check on your spelling! Please!
I don't think for a moment this ditty'll inspire
And I'm sure I'll upset somebody and irk their ire
But I've worked hard on this project for many long years
I'm proud of my efforts and may you all hear
Once upon a time this Brit did her bit!
(But her poetry never improved!)
These words of wisdom are Adrienne originals.
(copy and paste - try it - it actually works!)
