I'm a native of Franklin County, Maine, and now live in Piscataquis County. I am working on researching my ancestors in the Hoar, Wright, Spaulding, Marston, Pillsbury & Toothaker lines, as well as my wife's families- Davis & Hammond. I enjoy researching ancestors and linking families through Find A Grave.|
I will transfer memorials and make any corrections at your request.

Yes I agree. However usually the errors are on multi-name obelisks. I have been pondering what to do, will likely ask for a temporary transfer so I can write a paragraph to clarify this. I do appreciate your responsiveness in checking for me. I want to be sure I am precise an accurate. --Amy

Thanks for checking those for me. After I sent that note from you, with additional research I was totally convinced that the stone dates were wrong and I sent correct information to the manager. So these memorials have been changed to reflect what I wrote to her. I was convinced because most of the people in this little cemetery are part of the same Leeds family... siblings and in laws. Levi actually has an 1859 death record... he is listed in a 1860 mortuary schedule. I suggested she leave it as 1860, which is a transcription date I found elsewhere. In 1861 Levi's wife remarried to Enoch. So if it does say 1866, the stone date is wrong. But whatever. Thanks for checking for me. -- Amy
I also need a transcription of Enoch Tupper 68181861 at Topper Hill. Te memorial says he died 1841, but I think it should be 1871-- Amy
HI, This concerns a photo you took of Levi Gilbert's stone in Topper Hill Cemetery. The memorial number is 68181669. He is currently linked to the memorial for his father Hersey Gilbert in Leeds. However dod and age on this memorial does not match the birth date for Hersey's son Levi. Unfortunately the stone photo is hard to read to know if it was properly transcribed. Hersey's son Levi died in Parkman Oct. 1859, according to the 1860 mortuary schedule. However the the Find A Grave memorial says he died Nov 14, 1866. I feel sure this is the right stone, not sure if the stone date is wrong, or if the memorial date is wrong. I see from your profile, that you live in the general area of this cemetery, and wondered if it would be convenient to visit the stone and double check the date. --Amy in Leeds
Hi Wayne -- wanted to ask you about the cemetery you created on the N side of Rte 150 (Athens Rd.), because there's another Leighton Cemetery on Carson Hill Rd/Crocket Rd, between Rte 150 & North Rd. not too far from there. Yours isn't listed at www.maps.google.com, and I was just wondering if there truly are 2 Leighton Cemetery's so close to each other? Nanc in NY

Wayne - I too am researching the Spauldings of which your Cpt Thomas is a part. We are also related - if you'd like - email me - I have quite a bit of info on these lines going backward. I'd be curious to see what all you know as well.

Oh thank you for the photos from Maloon Cemetery also :) I live in TN but I'm going home to Maine next July....I'm hoping to connect with the right people while I'm there to get the stones fixed. There are many in Crocker Cemetery that are in dire need of repair.

Thank you for filling my requests at Crocker Cemetery
I'm sorry I can't read the stone for the daughter or mother.
