I am new to the Genealogy Family. I have been doing family research since 2002. I originally started working mainly on my Slaughter family. Over the years I have expanded my work on various family lines. Currently I am focusing on the following: Slaughter, Barnett, Risinger and Moody.|
When I started my first Family Tree I knew very little about my family. With the help of my cousin Myrtle Martin and all the many volunteers that have labored long hours putting information on the Internet I have been able to locate family members that I never knew about.
I would like to thank all of the kind volunteers and those that photograph the headstones in the cemeteries as a hobby. You are doing a great service to preserve the memory of those that have gone on before us.
If you find errors or duplicate entries, please do not hesitate to contact me. If you have additional information you would like added to one of the entries, I'll be most happy to add the information for you, or if the memorial is of one of your family members, I would be pleased to transfer it to your Find-A-Grave membership ID.
I wish that I was able to photograph headstones but because of my health I am unable to do so. I had checked the box photograph headstones in my area by mistake, please forgive me.

Apparently our genealogy comes together in Robertson County, Texas. Another child of Charles Franklin Gilstrap, Helen Rhea Gilstrap 1911-1954 married our cousin Harvey Winn Goodman 1910-1961. Their death certificates say they were buried at Henry Prairie, apparently joining her family there. But I don't find them listed.
Are you able, or do you know anyone else who could look for them there. If not, I'll go ahead and list memorials for them there and link them to her father.
Our large Goodman clan arrived in Franklin about 1880 from Clarke County AL and scattered a lot of offspring. The patriarch Mathew is buried at Mt Pleasant where I see you also have people. Hope you have as much fun as I do putting together the puzzles they left us, to rebuild their stories.

Hi, I'm sitting here visiting with my Dad playing on my new computer. Just for kicks I typed in his fathers name, Duane Barnett, and found this site. We were very excited to see this and the pictures of his family when he was a child! Please feel free to contact me, I would love to find out how we're related!

Parents and wife have been added.
Hi Mary. The memorial you messaged me about (56896956) is William Monroe "Uncle Buck" Hicks. His wife was Frances Anderson. He was actually the son of the William "Buck" Hicks referred to. That William was married to Nancy Forsyth as you mentioned. William Monroe Hicks was born in 1847 and buried in Friendship Cemetery whereas his father William "Buck" Hicks was born in 1812 and is buried at Old High Shoals Cemetery (8553988). He also had another son named William (William Martin Hicks) who was about 5 years older than William Monroe Hicks. Take care!
