Bio Photo BEATITUDES OF THE FAMILY GENEALOGIST

Blessed are the great grandmothers, who hoarded newspaper clippings and old letters, for they tell the story of their time.

Blessed are all the grandfathers who filed every legal document, for this provides proof.

Blessed are grandmothers who preserve family Bibles and diaries, for this is our heritage.

Blessed are father who elect officials that answer letter of inquiry, for some, this is their only link to the past.

Blessed are mothers who relate family traditions and legends to the family, for one of her children will surely remember.

Blessed are the relatives who fill in family sheets with extra data, for them we owe the family history.

Blessed is any family whose members strive for the preservation of records, for theirs is a labour of love.

Blessed are the children who will never say, "Grandma, you have told that old story twice today."

Oh my, I wonder how many times I did that? We have people with both spellings in our tree. Different branches though. Thanks for all your help.

I think I mispelled it earlier this morning when I was looking it up too. Sigh....

Thanks for the permission, and I'm always happy to let others know who really deserves the thanks. :-)

RE: Flossie Houx Branscom
At first I thought maybe I had made a mistake. So I looked her up in your records under her first name - her memorial is 73943329. I apologize for not listing her memorial along with my request. That's unusual for me since I normally put both in the subject line (or I can't get back to the memorial - smile). Have a happy day. S

Hello, we were wondering if you would allow us to use your picture in our family tree? We know it's not a headstone photo but it will still add a lot to her story. Please know we will gladly cite both you and Find A Grave as our source for the picture. Thank you so much for considering our request.

This is a duplicate of another posting with more info. You can search Sandy Chapel Cemetery to see the other 2. I posted a public note to the most recent one also. Please check the more complete one for correctness and consider deleting yours.

Thanks so much

RE: Sybile Burks
I know there are plenty like that, no marker. That was why I was in Kilbourne, placing a marker on a grave of my great grandfather's brother's grave. A cousin show me where the grave was, and I found an inexpensive memorial marker on Ebay at this link:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/250680940990?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649--
It was titled Laser Engraved 12" x 6" Granite Memorial Grave Marker and I paid $25, looked nice, went to home depot and got a cement block for $1.40, went to the grave, dug about a 1 inch form area where I place some 2x4s, mixed some bagged cement, and when it was about dry, pushed the stone down into the cement.

So you could do something like this if you wish, I would be willing to help if you are too far away, as long as you could direct me to location.
