I started researching back in the mid 1960's along with my mother. With the availability of the computer, software and internet I took her 350 names on my father's side and added her so-called "little & secretive family." Over 7,000 names now and growing daily.|

The six grandchildren mentioned in Arla's obit are my third cousins, and I would sure like to know their names, if you have them. And by now, they, like me, might themselves have some grandchildren...looking forward to hearing from you.
One of these days I'll learn to spell. Sorry. cb

The Wertz stones were covered with a heavy mineral deposit from the irrigation water minerals. It comes off with a pumice stone an a little rubbing. But they were nearly unreadable and that is their normal comdition. The metal markers get covered too but they are legible.
Amelia is next to a blank slate. 99% of the markers in that wall are letters carved into the marble. Hers has a metal plaque, as you can see. The box to her left (right) is blank, and the husband 'could' be there with an unputchased panel. 419B. Maybe the office can tell you who is in there. That office is famous for misinformation because their records are on paper and an ancient computer file. It depende on the person looking for an entry what results you get. All in all they try to help - but persistence is the key.
You're welcome for all. It's a war here as to who gets the requests - several avid volunteers. It's a goofy hobby and it IS California, after all. Be well - cb

Added links Pat. If these are family and you would like transfers,let me know. Happy to do so.
|Chuck||RE: Dick Harberts|
I had addressed that possibility in the photo caption, but you are probably correct about removing the photo to avoid possible confusion.

I took approximately 1,000 photos of Colfax Cemetery graves, and only found one Dick Harberts. There was one Dirk Harberts, but his dates were significantly different from both of the Dick Harberts listed on Find A Grave. I still need to process the photos, but I do not recall seeing another Dick, as I was looking specifically for the second one.

|Cathryn Bates Wilkinson||Wheeler and Edna Hoselton|
Hi Patricia! I would be willing to manage the memorials for Edna Hoselton (#22199719) and Wheeler Hoselton (#22199723). Edna was a Devlin, my grandfather's niece, and my 1st cousin, once removed. Hope you are well!
