Bio and Links
I have enjoyed Genealogy for over 25 years and walked many cemeteries in search of family. Many people have helped by providing research along the way. So,hopefully my small contribution will help others in locating members of their families.

Please notify me of any data entry errors as I would like to honor you and your family as much as possible.

My "roots" are in the Cusick and Meineke families in Cincinnati, Ohio. My wife's family is from Harlan and Bell Counties in Kentucky.

Please do not totally rely on what was posted by me or for that matter anyone else. As I cross check head-stones, to cemetery records, to the Social Security Administration database, to death certificates, I see many discrepancies. Most people a hundred years ago did not see the value of accurate record keeping. I also accept record changes unquestioned and unverified. Last, but not least, and very probable, I may have inadvertently miss-type some information.
So while this information is hopefully a good place to start, please cross check and make your best judgment as to what is accurate. I'll be happy update /correct any record's information.

Transfer Policy:
There will be a (nonmonetary) cost for transfers.

Please add value to the record. Link other people too it, add information, add pictures. In other words, show there was a reason you wanted the record transferred.

I and others have family we cannot find. Please find a cemetery close to you and spend some time adding graves to Find-A-Grave of people who are not related to you. I helped you, you reciprocate and help others. If we all participate and help each other by building the database, we will all have a great tool. I am donating 1,000's of hours helping you find your history, please spend a few minutes helping others.

Vine Street Hill Cemetery Photo Requests

Vine Street is about 170 acres of burials, if you wish a photo and there is no burial location listed, you may have to call the cemetery and obtain it. Then ask that it be added to the FAG record. Otherwise there is little change of fulfilling your request.

I am working by way through the cemetery (attempting )to photograph every stone. But many graves are not marked, the stones are no longer readable, or the marker says Mother, Father, or John. Making it difficult to know who the marker belongs to. Section 12 is particularly tough as most graves are unmarked and the ones that are there are weather warn and unreadable. (Sorry)

Transfer of Grave
Mike, I have just asked for transfer of Luella Clark Ashar & Royal Ashar Phillips to me. Juanita is sister of Royal & d/o Luella. I am doing all the Conner line of which the Phillips are distantly related (via Supinger, Crosson, Wilson, Phillips). Would be glad to maintain Juanita's site and add some of the research I have. Thx Carol Conner-Donovan

William J. Enz/Minnie Enz
Mike, I am trying to get photo of my Great, Great Grandparents grave markers. I see that William Enz is listed in Vine Street Cemetery, Section 1, Plot 365, Grave 8, in Cincinnati. I grew up in Cincy, but now reside in Piedmont, SC. When I visit, it is hard to get away to go downtown to get to Vine Street Cemetery. Would also be interested who is also buried in this plot. I am guessing this could be the Miller family ploy, as Minnie was a Miller? Any photo or help would be appreciated!
Kindest Regards,
Chris Folkman
Piedmont, SC

Phillips Family
I am related to the wife of Royal Ashar Phillips buried in Section 120, Lot 81,Space 7. I have been research extensively and have documentation on Royal (who is my main concern). Therefore, I attached the 1900 Census to show his family relationships. I would like a photo of the tombstones of Harry A (1859-1925), Luella Ashar (1869-1943) and sister Juanita Phillips-Austin (1894-1944)All are buried in same section & lot. If you could not take the photographs, could you refer me to someone who can? Thx so much. Carol Conner-Donovan

Yep, I agree. Records from the past can be very confusing; death record says one thing, burial records another.

Surname Correction for Jacob Kiem
Thanks so much for taking a photograph of Jacob Kiem's stone and creating his Find A Grave entry. I had been searching for it. He was the husband of my great grand aunt Mary Schmidt Keim. Although his stone has the surname as Kiem, all of his family members and he as well in his census records and city directories has his last name as Keim. Would it be possible to change his entry in Find A Grave#78588061 to Keim or if that is not possible to cite it as Keim (Kiem)? Thanks so much. Karyl Schmidt.
