Hello, I saw your question about cemeteries there. I actually visited blackhammer last year but didn't get to thoroughly search, so another volunteer looked and pretty much came up with what I did, zip. Which is why I think many of the graves there must be unmarked - or had wooden markers which are now gone. Blackhammer is teeny tiny, if you look on google earth you can see the church is at the only real part of town. They had a general store, a church, and that's it! I didn't see any possible other cemeteries, but I do know some were buried in Spring Grove for a while due to having family there. You might want to try those two cemeteries.
I just returned home after a week's travel to a meeting in Alabama and found the Glynn memorials in my mailbox. Thank you SO much for transferring them, even outside the customary guidelines. I'm very appreciative of your kindness and will take good care of them.

Thanks so much for the message and the correction on Francis Glynn.
I can't tell you how glad I am to have found these memorials. I spent two days researching the letters of Patrick Glynn (in the archives at Amherst, MA) in reference to his wife Jennie's Warren ancestors. Patrick was on a real mission to identify the origins of her great great grandfather Jabez Warren, and he teamed up with another descendant, the philosopher James Hayden Tufts, to travel through CT and VT on the trail of Jabez. The correspondence between Patrick Glynn and James Hayden Tufts are in the Tufts' documents in the Amherst archive.
By Find-a-grave guidelines I'm not entitled to ask for the transfer of the Glynn memorials, but if they do not mean anything in particular to you, I would be very grateful to have them; and if so, my membership number is: #46951416). However, I am very well aware of how much effort goes into locating burials and creating memorials, so it's really your call. I'll be very glad for you to remain ownership.

Sheila, I am so grateful . . . FINALLY! . . . to have found the memorial for Jennie. Thanks so much for creating it.
|Mary Stefanski||RE: Sheldon Cemetery|
Hi Sheila, the Sheldon Cemetery is located just outside of the town of Sheldon (Houston County). William's stone might be there, there are a lot of worn and broken stones in that cemetery. However, if he died in Blackhammer, you might want to try the Faith Lutheran Church cemetery near Blackhammer (Houston County). This cemetery is only about 5 miles southwest of the one near Sheldon so it might be worth a try.

I just realized of late. The Find A Grave memorial for a Luluella Bigelow # 39542806 where you have a Headstone photo. Is a Duplicate of Find A Grave memorial # 27331725. Which was set-up by a Melvin Witschi Find A Grave Contributor # 468806386.
You might want to Offer to him your Snapshot of her Headstone. Yours is in Color & he has a B & W one.
Thank you for all the photos of the Woodruff graves!
