RE: Elizabeth Kraus Haak, Find A Grave Memorial# 55082289
I found death for John Haak in First Reformed burials:
Haak, John, S. of Jacob, catarrh fever 12/19/1845 aged 68/2/3
So from this, he was son of a Jacob Haak.

BIO in History of Berks Co: p 624
John Haak, the grandfather of George E., was a farmer and large landowner in Alsace township, this county. He married Elizabeth Krause[sic KRAUSS], a native of Berks county, and they had a family of five children, namely: William, Isaac, John, Rebecca (Mrs. Addams) and Michael. They were Lutherans in religious faith, and in politics John Haak supported the Whig party, and later the Republican.

Thank you so much for this photograph. You may never know how much I appreciate it. This man is still a mystery. We don't know who his father or mother are. Still searching.

Thanks again.

RE: Houck / Hauck
The only Joseph Houck in my Family Tree is the son of John Houck, Sr. and Elizabeth Miller. He was born 12/4/1824 and died 6/20/1897 in Northampton County, Pa.

My tree shows Samuel & Elizabeth Dreisbach Houck had the following children: Sarah, Rosanna, John, Daniel, Nathan, Samuel, Elizabeth, Isaiah, Samuel J. and Henry.

Hi- I dug around a little on the "George" part. I'll have to dig around a little more, because I can't find my source, so in the meantime, I just went with "Johannes".
