When I was born, we lived in Caldwell County, MO and now live in Daviess County, MO. I have lived in these two counties all my life, except for 7 years when I was a child and lived near Abilene, KS. |
I have always enjoyed sitting at the table at family dinners and hearing the older people tell stories about people and times in the past.
I became involved in looking for my genealogy when I got a computer a few years ago. My grandparents are buried in Caldwell County and some of my great and great-great grandparents as well. Some of the names I am researching are LOONEY, SLOAN, FARR, GREEN on my side and HOOD, GARRISON, STORY, HARRIS on my husband's side.
If you are looking for further information on Caldwell or Daviess County, Missouri ancestors, the following are some of my favorite websites:

I am the last living relative of the Ben Evans family from the Lick Fork area of Caldwell county.
My oldest brother Floyd was married to Lucretia May Losh and was Stanley's father. I added a picture of him when he was about 10, just before his passing.

Karen--thanks for all your faithful work on helping folks find their ancestors. You are the resource on James Albert Calvin; I am looking for death info. (place, burial, etc.) for his father, David Calvin (middle name was Isaiah, but it is often shown as David J. Calvin. Born in 1844 and died around 1904; lived in Kansas City in 1902 and 1903. I would appreciate any leads you may have. Family info. says that he could be buried in Weatherby, DeKalb County. So any connections there would be super.
Thanks for the Early picture from Graceland cemetery. It is greatly appreciate it.

Caryn, Thank you for the marker photo you put in the memorial and for setting up the memorial for Malinda Ann Dunaway memorial # 29664627. There is an inscription on the bottom that we cannot make out. Mower blades and weather have taken their toll. It might be MOORE'S SERVICE OR MD.OREXS SERVICE. I know G-Grandmother Dunaway was blind and her family was very poor when she died in 1928. Would you look at the photo to see if you can tell what is says or means? It is amazing how much you have done as a contributor and I hope I am not being a huge bother to you. Sincerely, A. D. Walker
