I am a newspaper editor, covering the town of Ridgefield, Conn., and have written extensively about the town's history (see website, RidgefieldHistory.com). I am trying to add as many Ridgefield graves and/or photos as possible, supplementing the fine work of others, particularly Gary Boughton and Karen Kelly. (I am also working on cemeteries in Groton, Vt., which I occasionally visit as well as certain other cemeteries.)|
I am happy to update memorials with more information, especially biographical.
If you are interested in taking over a memorial, tell me about your relationship and why you want to manage the memorial.
I can help with obituary reprints, as explained on RidgefieldHistory.com under "Obituaries." You will also find there the complete Ridgefield Library index of Ridgefield Press obituaries published between 1875 and 1999, plus obituaries that appeared since 2000.
My research interests include the families of SANDERS, JAQUES, WILKINS in upper New York and New England, LEE, LANE, and CAHOON in Connecticut, and NOLD in New York and beyond.

|Emily E. Farley Smith||RE: Luque|
Thank you for adding the info. It's very much appreciated.
As for the new "Edits" tab on our profile pages, there has been a ton of discussion in the forums about the very issue you bring up. We've received a couple of comments from the admins, but we realized we had some answers only because we were chatting in the forums. It seems after the "beta" test (it was tested by some long time, high number members first) to work out some kinks, it was just rolled out to all the members sans notification. Not the best way to ensure it's use or that it gets used properly.
This is what I know - we still have 30 days to work the edit. "Accept" is the default and by clicking the submit button, the info you see on the "Edits" tab will auto update the memorial. "Decline" can be sent with no changes to the memorial along with a standard reason as well as a free-form, personal reason. "Ignore" will bypass the requested edit, giving you more time to decide if you'd like to eventually approve it or decline. You can "Ignore" for up to 30 days. If you have "Edits" pending, there's a number shown on the tab and once they are there longer than 30 days, the number turns red.
An auto response is sent to the person making the request once you've worked the edit.
If your edits are not done in the 30 day time frame, eventually, the admins will do them. They have said they are working on something where the system will send out e-mails, either weekly or after 20 days, to alert members they have edits pending.
Whew! I've said a lot. Sorry about that. I always babble when I think I'm being helpful. Hopefully, I have been. And I agree with you - the admins will soon send out information about the new Edit tab.
Thank you again &

|Weston Town Historian/Weston Historical Society||Stanley Mendick|
Thank you for posting the photo for Stanley Mendick in St Mary's Cemetery in Ridgefield. He was my mother's brother. We are still trying to locate their parents Stanislav and Alexendra Theodosia Mendick who were buried in the same cemetery (according to my mother.)
|Teresa Howard Robertson||Sara Suchecki, Maple Shade Cemetery|
Sara's profile says DOB unknown, DOD 1966
Her DOB is March 10, 1966.
She died June 16, 1966.
Her mother is a first cousin of my dad's.
Thank you for the photos of the gravestones for Sara and her father Stanley Suchecki.
|Grant Davis||Phineas Sherwood|
Thank you for posting the gravestone of Phineas Sherwood. I'm trying to find out more on him. He may have had a brother, John Sherwood (married to Lovisa Burtis) who lived in that area until about 1790, when he moved to Mamakating, Sullivan, New York.
