Bio

We have been tracing our family trees for a number of decades. As part of that research, we have walked a number of cemeteries photographing the gravestones. Jim's genealogy centers on Mason County, WV and Elizabeth's family comes from the western New York area.

ADDITIONS or CORRECTIONS
Changes to names, dates, places and relationships can be easily made under the Edit tab on any memorial.

TRANSFERS
All the current policies on transfers can be found at "How can I request to manage a relative's memorial" under the "Help" link on the bottom of the pages of the website.

Relationships under the current policy are: child, spouse/partner, sibling, parent, grandchild, great-grandchild, grandparent, great-grandparent, niece/nephew, great-niece/nephew, aunt/uncle, great-aunt/uncle, or first cousin. This would include adoptive, step and in-law versions of these relationships.

Requests for transfers must include a relationship statement.

DUPLICATIONS
"In regard to duplicates, a memorial with a correct known burial location will always be preferred over an unknown burial location." (from Help with Find A Grave)
Mistakes happen. If we have duplicated a correctly placed memorial, just add a note under "Suggest Any Other Correction.
Moving a memorial, not originally posted to the correct cemetery (or originally posted using "burial unknown") does not make our memorials duplicates regardless of the creation date. Moving a memorial means you are creating the duplicate, again, regardless of the creation date.

PHOTOGRAPHS
Photographs we have taken may be used on other websites or in printed materials ONLY if credit is given to Findagrave.com (including cemetery name) and credit is given to "Jim and Elizabeth" as photographers. Any images we have uploaded are copyrighted and are not free for the taking without proper credit. (See Find A Grave's copyright policy under "Help" on the bottom of the page.)
