I'm grateful that my grandfather saved and passed down quite a bit of information on his family and have been grateful for genealogical resources and new contacts to assist in expanding my tree. I started 6 years ago when I retired for a couple of years then slowed down because of a move and am back to being active again.|
I'm impressed with the volume of material already put into this site.
I invite contacts to share about family we have in common, especially to increase accurate knowledge of mutual relatives. Also, I would be willing, with good directions, to look up a stone for you and photograph it for you in the Portland, Maine area after the snow melts!.

I just was working with other Rakestraws and saw what you wrote on Grace's memorial in Friends Arch Street Cemetery.... it is most likely her. the date you posted is probably the converted date, which Ancestry uses, as well as other sites too, i suppose...anyway, I transcribe directly from the record "Old Style" would apply to her as her dates are pre 1753. i am attaching a link, it is very useful.

Hello, thank you for being willing to photograph after your snow is gone. I thought that our snow in Indiana was never going to melt, and now we're down to bare grass. Here's to SPRING arriving SOON! Andrea
