latitude and longitude
To add latitude and longitude, click on Edit Plot.
If you leave a space before the values, an error message will be returned. If will say that the values are not the the correct format.
Be sure to include the - for the longitude, otherwise the person will be buried in China.
If you download Google Earth (it is free software) and put in the search box the latitude and longitude (for example 38.7338, -86.48588), it will take you to the grave area.

|Robert Lane||Mary Marshall|
You're right about moving Mary Marshall. I have done so. You commented on the missing death date. In some cases, this means that the person wasn't buried there. When the first person died, a stone was purchased and both names were put on it. However, the second person may remarry or move out of the area, and end up being buried somewhere else. There are other reasons, of course. I don't know if Mary is actually buried there, but I haven't found any indication that she is not.

Thanks for pointing out the error I made by placing him in the wrong cemetery. I will fix my memorial.

Parents have been linked as you suggested.
|Ferber||RE: David and Margaret Alter, Mitchell cemetery|
David Mell Alter m his cousin Margaret Ann Ritner on 20 April 1837 at the Pennsylvania State House when her father, Joseph Ritner, was the governor there. All of their known 11 children lived beyond childhood.
Their 5th son, George Dugan Alter died at age 66 on 1 May 1918, possibly in St. Louis. I suppose it's possible that he was buried in Mitchell, though it seems somewhat unlikely. He was married and had at least one son, Donald.
That's all I see in the files that seems at all relevant.
On another topic for the Mitchell Cemetery, my grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Alter Barton, another of their children, lost her daughter, Dell Barton Palmer, and her husband, Charles Lee Barton, both in early 1900. They share a headstone. Mary Elizabeth left Mitchell with her second daughter and moved to St. Louis where ME died 14 January 1926. Information in the Mitchell Tribune of 1/21/26 said,
"Services were conducted at the home of her daughter in St. Louis Friday evening. Saturday the remains were brought to Mitchell and interred by the side of her husband, who, with the older daughter, Mrs. Della PALMER, had gone before a number of years ago."
She is apparently buried next to Charles, close to Dell, yet her name is not on the stone. Is there a record of her burial there? If so, do you know if it is possible to add her name to the side of the stone?
