Bio Photo 1. DUPLICATE LISTINGS: We all make this mistake. If you ask me to delete a duplicate, please make sure that my entry was later than the other. If my entry was done first, I should not be asked to delete my work.

2. TRANSFERS: I will transfer managements of graves UNLESS I AM DIRECTLY RELATED. Please send your request by edit and I will check my family tree. If your requested name is not in my tree, I will gladly transfer it. If it is there, I will explain my relationship to that person and why I do not wish to transfer. Please understand my wish to keep my family grave listings. I am sure that if you had taken the time to walk the cemeteries, search the records and list the names, you would feel the same.

I appreciate all the kind additional information and corrections. (Sometimes we all suffer from fat-finger syndrome and miss the right key!) Forgive me if I have made an error on your loved ones grave. Let me know and I WILL CORRECT IT.

I am not as "owner" of graves, nor am I a "Collector" of names. I am a retired lady who has the time to comb records and record names that are not yet on this site. . How I hope someone finds their loved ones because of the few hours I spent typing.

The main names I am researching in my family: Knowles-Sandlin, Patterson - Brown, Gornto-Allen, Delaney-Roebuck, Entrekin- Martin, Beall-Watts and Holcombe -Watson.

And my husband's family, Miner-Hughes, Nail-Bibb, Freeman-Gantt and Rimel- Headrick.

RE: Hedrick
I have a William J. Hedrick, and our family name was Headrick and is now Hedrick.

My 3rd great grandfather got mad at his brother and changed the name to Headrick, but then his kids changed it back to Hedrick.

Supposedly, yes, I am of the same line, Michael down, but, I have found the online research SERIOUSLY flawed.

Here's my family page on my Hedrick line:

And I have a tree at Ancestry, COASTAL GEORGIA FAMILIES 1 (tree 2 is for African-American families of this area).

You can email me directly if you wish to speak more about the Hedrick line. My email address should be on my F-A-G profile or the GlynnGen website.

And, no, you don't need to transfer any listings to me. The only listings I want attached to me are my personal family.

Ellen (Murray) Calnan 2
I forgot to mention this too; Ellen apparently didn't die on 4 May 1879.

I never was able to find an obituary for her but then the early Brunswick newspapers have been put online with a search engine and I found her obituary dated 21 February 1880!

Imagine that! I don't think you should change her death date as posted since that is what is on the family tombstone, but, maybe add a note and here is her obituary:

Brunswick Advertiser; Saturday 21 February 1880; pg. 3 col. 2

We are pained to announce the death of Mrs. James Calnan. This is the second time Mr. Calnan has been called to follow a beloved wife's remains to their last resting place. May a kind Father support him in this his sore trial.

Please be sure to source that this came from, thanks!

Ellen (Murray) Calnan
Ellen is listed here:

She was not married to her nephew, Cornelius W. Calnan.

She was married to James M. Calnan, Sr. as his second wife, and together they had one son, Robert Emmet Calnan.

I have added the correct information through Find-A-Grave, but, I don't know if it will delete Cornelius as her husband or if you have to do this. Cornelius never married or had children as far as is known. He left his entire estate to his sisters.

There are so many mistakes with the info listed in this Oak Grove database (especially since so many people copied my early work), I'm trying to send updated info on the ones I catch.

Thanks for all of your work and I hope this helps!

RE: Hogland
Hi Robin,

As far as I know Dora Bell is buried in Arkadelphia Cemetery in Cullman County. I'm sorry but I don't have anything else on her except the names and dates of her husbands and two of her children, Lorene and Della.

Wish I could have been more help to you.

Hugh Brown's Wife Sarah
I believe without a doubt that Sarah Crawford was the wife of Capt. Hugh Brown. When I was at the Bryan-Lang Library in Woodbine in Sept. 2015 I found this:

Camden Co. Deeds, Book K, pg. 41. 10/5/1815: *John Crawford* to his nephew, John Brown (son of Hugh, Sr.) both of Camden, 250 acres, So. side of Satilla, also slaves, livestock and tools. Witness: Hugh Brown (Jr.)
Hugh Brown Sr. died in 1812.
(Brown Family files at Bryan-Lang Lib. Woodbine, GA)

It seems that John Crawford was the brother of Sarah. The Parrish family is involved with the Browns and the Crawfords and I am researching all of these connections. Maybe one day I will find it all! In the meantime, I truly believe that Hugh Brown was Ezekiel's father. My great- grandmother, Laura Grace Brown Peeples Nebeker, named one of her sons Hugh. There has got to be a connection, particularly since they all came from Woodbine. The Peeples and Brown families go way back and forward to today.

This is my thinking right now Robin. ;o)

I have no research on this person. The link was posted from the spouse memorial. I have updated the headstone photo so it can be read better.
