Atlanta, Georgia native saluting the contributions of known and unknown individuals, pacifically the fundamental role that African American's have played in the making of the American republic. Many of these known and unknown individuals broke barriers in the political, educational and entertainment arenas, as well as built up their communities, and achieved beyond what others deemed impossible. All saluted, from the famous to the obscure, deserve our gratitude, for their lives clearly demonstrate in some way-through perseverance, fortitude and hard work that people can overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles to fulfill their dreams and share their gifts with the world. Find A Grave provides all of us a opportunity to learn about some of these individuals behind the struggles and triumphs that have helped shape the world in which we live. My hope is that more people will become more aware of the contributions that many of these individuals have made.|
Death teaches us to remember the things that matter the most.
I would like to say thank you to all who have left tributes to my deceased relatives and especially those who sponsored memorials of my deceased relatives on Find A Grave. God Bless!

Hello. I have added the bio information but I noticed that it appears that you copied the photo from the church's website. Please note there is a copyright notice on their web page. At some future point, someone from that organization may notice the photo and ask that it be removed. One thing you can do, and it often works out to our advantage: Write to them and ask for permission to use the photo. Before doing so, you should remove the photo from his memorial. I think it is a very nice photo and certainly adds favorably to his memorial, but we don't want to have any copyright infringement issues with another website. After all, Find A Grave specifically says in their rules "no photos copied from other websites." If and when you do obtain permission, reload the photo and put in the caption that it was used with permission.
Thank you for the additional information on Reverend Peters.

In your bio for him it says that his wife died in 1873 but there is a picture of her headstone and it says 1924. I was wondering where you got the 1873 date?

|B.J. Waters||Hattie and Johnnie Cochran|
Hello, and thank you for contacting me about Hattie. Unfortunately, I cannot link them. A link from parent to child must be done through the child's memorial. I have no control over the memorial of Johnnie Cochran. Being famous, the link will have to be done by the Find A Grave administrators. Please contact one of them to see if they are willing to link them. I have changed the bio section on Hattie's memorial to reflect that she was Johnnie's mother. I hope you are correct, as I was unable to find anything that mentioned Johnnie's mother's name.
I wonder if you know if there is a relationship to Johnnie with these two: Ra Lonzo Cochran and Hannah Cochran Glover. Their crypts are very near to Johnnie's.
