Unity Hancock has been a "mystery" for many years ago, someone though she was a Spurlock (not Hancock). It was from the LDS rec'ds., that I discovered she was a Hancock and had died in Fayette Co., GA. Believe it's also showing she was born in Greene (later Hancock) Co., GA. I'm definitely sure she was the sister of Joel Hancock. When it comes to her parents it is still "questionable." Just hoping someone will come up with proof/documentation as to who they were. Made a trip to Hancock County in Sept. and met up with James "Jim" Read. He is a volunteer fireman and on that they he was one of many who fought the fire at the Courthouse. He took me all over the county and we found only where Capt. Judkins Hunt, "RWS" cabin might have been near Fort Creek. The only tombstones we discovered were the Harpers and Harris family Cemeteries. Benjamin Franklin Harper and Sgt. Henry Harris, "RWS." We did not pursue looking in Sparta City Cemetery. Some time back Jim took a photo of Henry Alexander Hunt, Sr. "CSA" (m. Mariah "Cherokee Mariah Lilly" Hunt, slave), tombstone (Find A Grave), he is buried in Sparta City Cemetery Cemetery. Sorry to not to be any help you regarding Clement Hancock (III) wife. But, I'm definitely sure Unity's "maiden name" was Hancock. Just remembered, James Hunt, s/o Capt. Judkins Hunt, Sr. and Martha Batte and bro./o Judkins Hunt, Jr. It was James (f/o Henry Alexander Hunt, C.S.A.) who inherited the Capt. Judkins Hunt's plantation. He married Nancy Harrison Mitchell, d/o Gen. Henry Mitchell (buried in Sparta City Cemetery) and Frances "Fannie" Hobbs, d/o Thomas and Sarah (Harrison) Hobbs. Sarah (Hobbs) Mitchell was Pres. William Henry Harrison's aunt. This possible a connection to the Hancock/Harrison connection???. Glad to hear from you!

Thanks for catching my "oops" on the memorial picture. Fixed it.
Fixed the one on Coyt, also.
Two oops done away with.
Keep up the sharp eyes. It's why I keep the pics on file.

His daughter is a facebook friend of mine and I added her mother when she passed. According to Ancestry, his parents were William Scott Green 1888-1964 and Bessie Parrott Green 1892-1924. Hope that helps you. Thank you for your message and it was nice to meet you.
