My wife and I started researching our family trees back in 2011. We have enjoyed our time searching for our missing ancestors and learning more about them. As our knowledge has increased, we have uncovered different resources that have been very helpful. One such resource was Find a Grave. As we found different ancestors on Find a Grave, we started visiting them, to see what else we could learn. As we visited the various cemeteries, we would find other relatives, that were not even listed on Find A Grave. Thus it became important to walk the entire cemetery, just in case there was someone there that had not "been found". Thus in the beginning, those that I was managing had a family connection. As we visited more and more cemeteries looking for our relatives, it became apparent that there was a lot of non relatives that had a story to tell, that was just as important as my relatives. Thus we began to check a cemetery that we visited, to see if there were a lot of pictures missing or if there were a lot of names missing. Thus we began to add people that were not related, hoping that someone may find them. I will be happy to transfer any of my non directs to you, or add any information for you. Please just let me know.
Transfer of Record Maintenance Request Hey Chris, Iím working on our family tree, and in researching the FindaGrave site I see that you have added the record for Louise F. Johnson # 108468717 in the Shadowlawn Cemetery in Lawrenceville, Gwinnett County, Georgia. Louise B. (Thomas) Johnson is the Great Grandmother of my Daughter-in-Law. Iíd like to request that you transfer the record to me ( CIMpleBS -#48802269) so that I may add family links, a bio and pictures. I see by your numbers you have been at this for a while, so let me ask if you have a recommendation for a website that really has obituaries from the newspapers. Iíve tried two paid sites and found none of my family members. I am in Ancestry.com at the base level, and donít mind paying for a good site, but am tired of paying for nothing. Thanks for all your efforts in this fascinating hobby. I just got hooked recently again after retiring, so Iíll be working on learning the most effective search methods. I agree on your comment, FindaGrave is one of the most intuitive and content filled sites I've found. The more family members we get involved, the better the information gets. Any guidance greatly appreciated. Thanks. Dan
RE: James McDaniel Thanks so much. I wondered if that's what had happened. It would be an easy mistake to make. Bud was still one great guy, about the nicest contributor I've ever met on FindaGrave, and I'm really sorry he's gone.
Mollie Pharr I got your edit for Mollie Pharr, memorial# 19079780. Where does the name (Frank) come in, since it's on her headstone? I didn't create the memorial, but if I had I would have added it as her nickname since it's in parenthesis on her headstone, but I see Bud added it as her middle name.
Leila Crow info Hi, little Leila Estelle Crow would have been my mother's oldest sibling had she not died at such a young age. I attempted to add her family info, but the page wouldn't allow it stating that info is pending,
I would like to link her to her parents George Vincent Crowe and Bertie Mae Cassidy.
