I authorize anyone to use my Find a Grave images in Wikipedia or their own family research, under the creative commons attribution license cc-by-2.5, where the attribution is 'R.E.H.'."

Going forward, unless there is a compelling reason, I will only transfer listings of people someone knew closely, i.e. parent, child or close friend. I'm sorry, but someone who died 200 years ago could be related to thousands of people. I prefer you add one of my listings under your umbrella using the virtual cemetery feature at Find A Grave. If you have additional information, I will happily add it and list you as the contributor.

Also, please do not ask me add an obituary to a person's memorial. See Find A Grave policy below:

Can I add an obituary to my interment listing?
It is best to not copy obituary notices from newspapers to an individual's memorial record unless you have permission from the newspaper to do so. In general, obituaries in newspapers are submitted by the family. If the obituary is added to the memorial record, it should list the newspaper and date the obit was printed. Find A Grave reserves the right to remove obituary notices from memorial records.
Obituaries for "famous" individuals are usually written by newspaper staff and can not be posted to Find A Grave.
Please do not include website addresses that may be listed in the obituary as they usually expire within a year after the obituary is printed.

Would you mind removing your photos from memorial 5085755? The plaque on the monument has been cleaned since you were there.

Mary Catherine Apgar
Rich:

Mary Catherine Apgar is listed as a daughter to Jacob A. & Elizabeth Apgar as you stated.

She is also listed as a daughter to John Apgar and Aletta (Hope) Apgar.

In both entries, she is listed as being married to Hezekiah Trimmer.

Interesting, huh! I have no proof other than what is listed in rootsweb.com and we all know that is not 100% correct.

Any ideas? Where did you get your info? That may help us determine who is the parents of Mary Catherine Apgar. Thanking you in advance for your help!

Nancy

William Becker
Rich,

I am requesting a change to William Becker's memorial #8546826. William was the husband of Minnie Kinzley Becker (memorial #150254907), my grandmother's sister. It has taken me some time to find and verify his memorial since he died in 1939 in New Jersey and his wife died in 1978 in Ohio - 39 years later. I will make my request through the established Find A Grave channels.

Thank you in advance!

Richard,
Would you consider transferring this memorial for Mort Lenihan to me? He is a cousin. Memorial 23729911. Thanks

2. Find A Grave Memorial# 10300741
Hello!

Thing are getting a little confusing for me here. There are two separate memorials for (possibly) the same person.
1. Find A Grave Memorial# 106272139 for Capt. George Combs 1742-1827
(The bio has similar information regarding first wife Elizabeth Wiley/Wildley
2. Find A Grave Memorial# 10300741 for George Comb (no S) 1745-1827 (same death date).
Who has the right info?

Thanks in advance for any light you can shed on this! Cathy

RE: Elihu Brittin
Thanks. The standards of genealogy require that one have (and state clearly) references for ruling-in (linking) an ancestor; the same is true for ruling-out. I was ruling-out Elihu the Col and Cabinet Maker, which is why I have so many records about him. He is not entirely ruled-out, but he is moved down on the list of people possibly related to our John. So I'm not only sending him back sans the flowers I added, but to you is going the other Elihu as well. I can't seem to find the Col to add as a prefix to his name, and all my attempts to erase place of death go nowhere. Perhaps someone can find his headstone and take a pic of it?
Again, Thanks,
B

This family and the related people are so mixed-up it would be an intense job to untangle them. Near as I can tell this one was the cabinet maker (and there is another genealogy that shows the opposite, with the author being quite adamant about it). I put flowers with a little-bit of a bio on the page for this Elihu. The other one is new: 157057784 with the inscription from Rammelkamp's book added to his page as well. Both were buried in the same 'family' location (where the author of the inscription transcriptions wrote that he kept families together in the presentation of his work at Harvard). Ref: "Campaign of 1824 in New York," by Charles Henry Rammelkamp, 1892 (tombstone inscriptions only a small portion of the book); available on googlebooks, free and searchable, out of copyright.

Now, that written, someone is going to come along and have the opposite Elihu as the Cabinet Maker.

Sincerely,
B

RE: Elihu Brittin
So we each don't know which one is which: Col or Cabinet Maker. The only way is to copy each inscription (out of copyright so it's OK). I've one Elihu b.abt 1760 that is missing. He's the one I've been searching for and finding the other Elihu(s).

A little copying-time later then,
B.
