Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am another lover of history and genealogy. After 25 years of research, I have a pretty good idea of how I came to be, and it's been fascinating!

The majority of the memorials that I have posted are of people who are related to me. If you want to ask about them, use either the Edit button on their page or leave a message here. If you send me new information using the Edit button, make sure that it's based on a good source. I will probably ask you for it.

Most the photos I have posted however are on memorials created by others, and they are of people who are not related to me. The "photos" are from sources published 1922 and earlier, which puts them in the public domain. I put them up in hopes that actual relatives will find them and be able to use them. Note: If you wish to know the source of a photo, click on it for an enlarged version. I write the source in the photo's caption which appears underneath.

If you find a picture of one of your ancestors that I posted, you are free to copy it for your personal use and/or include it in your family tree on Please however ask for permission if you intend to use a photo in a published work (and thanks to the folks who have bothered to ask me).

One request: Please do NOT post death certificates on my memorials.

Two of my favorite verses: "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him." (John 3:17) and "Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God." (John 1:12)

I also was able to talk with Aunt Annie Clark 1988 before she died and she really helped me alot to, grandaughter of James Washington Clark.
Her father was John Henry Clark. Annie was my grandmothers Aunt but she was younger than my grandmother. As a matter of fact there is a living Clark in a nursing home here in Decatur who gave me pictures of John Henry and his wife. She was born in 1915 as of Oct 14 2014 she was still living. She also has a sister still living. I saw 1 document with Amos Jones on it but I will have to look and see if I can find it again.

Amos and Turner Clark
My Spiveys used to have reunions about 36 yrs ago and it was called Clark and Spivey reunion. I was connected with some of Amos and Turners Children or Grandchildren not sure but I was like 28 and they were elders to me. I even got to go visit one in Clarkston I think and she was related to Turner Clark. These people gave me all kids of information on the Clarks. One of the ladies I remember well was Margaret Bell, I think she was a Clark. I also visited several more, James Washington grandchildren who is my ggggrandfather.Thats where I got the names Turner Phillip and Amos Jones Clark. They took me to grave yards and told me stories. I had twin boys in 1979 and thats what got me started on this family history. I work on this off and on and all this information are in my files. The reunions have died out along with the Elders so I don't know any Clarks now.

RE: Abigail Beers Peck
Hi Suellen - For Abby Beers Peck – my source is Ancestry tree “Gould”, owner: TobyGould

Abby Beers Peck
Birth: 19 Aug 1850 in Flushing, NY
Death: 29 Apr 1851 in Flushing, NY

This entry is not sourced but the dates fit well with the note on your Find A Grave memorial for Abby/Abigail. I’ve sent a note requesting source documentation for these dates.

The Peck, Phelps, and Beers families seem fairly well documented so it’s reasonable to expect that someone has this info. My connection of interest is Agnes Polhemus (1789-1859) who married Isaac Peck (1791-1860); Agnes is a 3G grand aunt of mine.

I'm still looking for the source of his burial location. I did find the following obit.

Gerald Horne will officiate services with interment to follow immediately afterwards at Carolina St., Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Barden was born on May 22, 1928 in Atlanta to the late Robert Fred Carroll and Ethel Shields. She worked during her life as a homemaker. Ms. Carroll, as she was known before marriage, wed Mr. James Stewart “Carl” Barden on September 14, 1975 in Thomasville and their union would continue until the time of his passing on October 9, 1995. She departed this life on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Brynwood Nursing Home in Monticello, FL. Survivors to cherish her memory include her daughter Ethel Adrian Hurst McDonald of Coolidge; grandsons Robert McDonald of Mobile, AL, William Wayne McDonald of Missouri and Christopher Mark McDonald of Coolidge; great-grandson William Wayne Anthony, Jr.; great-granddaughter Cindy McDonald; great-grandson Anthony McDonald.

RE: Robert Fred Carroll
I'll have to reconstruct my memory. It had to be from a cemetery list. When I found the name, I probably thought he was one of my lost Thomas County Carroll's. When I determined he wasn't I posted the memorial. May have been a death certificate.
