I have been doing genealogy for the last fifteen years. The main names I am researching are Abernathy, Coley, Higgins, Howell, Knight, Ledford, Roach, Moss, Whitmore, and Williams.|
My other hobby is photography. I take photos of everything from cemeteries to concerts.
If you see any of my photos that are very tiny (ie. the size of a postage stamp), please let me know. Several years ago, the Find A Grave website had a weird glitch that made dozens and dozens of my photos the size of a thumbnail pic. I did not upload these tiny pictures. If you will let me know, I can hopefully replace them with a normal size picture.
Please note that I don't have editorial control over memorials that are listed as famous. If changes or corrections need to be made, please contact the Find A Grave admins.
I have created a website dedicated to my family cemetery, the Old Macedonia Cemetery of Bartow County. You can find it by following the link below.
And please be aware that just because I have taken a cemetery photo, it does not mean that I operate the cemetery or have anything to do with the cemetery. I only took a photograph.
Any photos that were taken by me may be used on genealogy websites such as ancestry.com. You have my permission. All I ask is that I am given photography credit.

I am a rookie into searching my family's history, only about 3 weeks into this.
I believe I have found a typo in the birth year of whom I believe to be my GGG grandfather, John Clark Dunaway (#10648960).
I clicked on the "edit" tab and entered the correction, but I wanted to message you the source where I have the correction.. I'm not sure if that's what I'm supposed to do. It's from the http://www.gabartow.org/Cem/cem.MtCarmel.shtml spreadsheet and there is also a hyperlink in his name that will take you to their image of his CSA Veteran marker showing the correct year.
Is there any other documentation that you need me to find to help you make this correction? Please let me know.
I plan a trip back to that cemetery to take photos of any grave markers I can find for him and his wife.
Thanks so much for all that you have done in Bartow County!!

PINE KNOTT cemetery William Marion Carmichael his headstone is broken and scattered over the cemetery a cousin of my made trip from Texas to there in June 2015. we were wondering who to tell abt the damage to the headstones. Lucky enough someone had taken pictures back in 2008, 2009 of the headstones and there is 17 Carmichael names in that cemetery all related.

I notice you are researching the name Williams. I am researching a George W. Williams, b. 26 Feb 1860 and died 11 May 1921 in DeKalb Co., AL. His father was Alexander G. Williams, born August 23, 1820 in SC and died 15 April 1865 in camp while serving in the Civil War at Dalton, Whitfield Co., GA. I wondered if he was one of the 421 unknown soldiers buried there. Do you have a copy of the list of these unknown soldiers that was found a few years ago? Also, are you aware of these Williams fellows?

Hi - I've submitted an edit for this memorial and wanted to let you know what my sources are. Although the US Congress's biography lists his date of death as 22 Sep 1917, his original death record in NC states that he died 28 Sep 1917, as does the record in the NC Death index. The date on his tombstone appears to be 29 Sep 1917 (although I could be wrong given the angle of the photo).
