Currently working on several trees. Born in Tampa, Florida, raised in Bayside, Queens County, New York City, New York, currently living in Northern New Jersey. Retired in 2008.|
On my mother's side there are Irish and German immigrants (mid 1800s) who lived and raised families in the New York City area. My grandmother on my father's side is the link that makes me a direct descendant of Edward Doty who came over on the Mayflower in 1620. There are generations of colonizers and pioneers on this side. My family on my father's side were pioneers who went from New England to Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio, Iowa and finally into the western states. I am trying to organize everything for future generations and to honor my ancestors who have been forgotten and struggled greatly to just to survive.
I WILL GLADLY TRANSFER MEMORIALS TO RELATIVES OF ANYONE WHO I HAVE ADDED, PROVIDING THE INDIVIDUAL IS NOT PART OF MY OWN CLOSE FAMILY. PLEASE USE THE EDIT TAB ON THE MEMORIAL PAGE TO REQUEST TRANSFERS. YOU MAY ALSO USE ANY PHOTOS THAT I HAVE TAKEN FOR YOUR FAMILY TREES, ETC.

Thank you for determining that my great grandfather's nephew was born in 1878. How did you do that? I emailed the Holy Rood Catholic Cemetery. They found in their records that he died as a child on 29 Nov. 1888, but they didn't have any additional information on him. Frances came from a Presbyterian family. I'm guessing that she might have converted to Catholicism, but haven't looked into that yet. I haven't located any descendants of James & Frances Dunn. Sharon
|John Sheets||RE: SHEETS|
Hi Ken, Thank You so much for the transfers. The Sheets family started out around Clinton Twp. Hunterdon Co. Early families had a lot of kids and so many named alike. Arlington's grandfather John was from Clinton. He moved to Washington, Warren Co. His son Andrew was Arlington's father. I am from John's brother Joseph's side. Not many people are tracking this family from my area. The ones who are, I believe just use a dart board for the family trees. The added note that you had in Kittie's Memorial about being in the Dickerson plot helped. I found her as a little girl at 11 with her family so if you have any more Dickerson's they may be related.
I have not found Arlington in 1900 but his wife and Florence are in Dover. He was a dentist and they lived in Essex Co. for a while. When I go to Trenton this summer, I will try to find out more.
Florence married Clarence Lund, and Kittie was with them in Essex in 1910. In 1920 Jan. Kittie was with him and 3 kids in Essex and he is a widower. The youngest child was around 2. Florence probably died around 1917 or 18. I hope to be putting together a different kind of Sheets, Sheats family book sometime. I have taken the families 130 of them and done bio's on them using the census and whatever. I'll see how it goes. I have not been in your area yet maybe this summer. Again, Thank You John
|Bruce Muller||Memorial 110284043|
Dear Mr. Doty
Thank you for your work at the Boonton Cemetery. Frederick Muller is my Grandfather. He died 24 February 1938 and is buried in Queens, NY. I knew that he had a previous marriage before my Grandmother from reading the 1895 census; also there were two daughters from that marriage. I did not see either the Muller or Townsend family names in your list of searches and am curious to know if you have done any further work in identifying the two daughters? Frederick married my Grandmother, Margaret W÷bcke on Valentines Day 1898. They had a daughter, Ethel, born in 1902, and a son Horace Frederick, born 1912. I am Horace's eldest son. Again, thank you
|Maggi||Barbara Dobson; Calvary Cem NY|
Dear Mr. Brown,
Re: memorial # 80215658, Barbara Dobson. Through ancestry research I BELIEVE that my great-great grandfather, Peter Dobson, re-married a MUCH younger woman by the name of Mary Morgan circa 1909. I have found them in 1910 census with daughter Mary, but did NOT know (if this is them ) that they had a second child!!! Do you by ANY chance know if Peter and/or Mary are buried in this plot as well???
I have pics from Calvary Cemetery of Peter's first wife's grave but he is not listed on the marker. The family story went that he was considered a "black sheep"... probably because of second younger wife after my great-great grandmother died. ANY information you have or know would be so much appreciated. THANKS!

You have a Susan Welty Shields connected as the daughter of Daniel and Eluzabeth Smeltzer Welty.
Although they did have a daughter Susanna Welty born June 24/25 1854 christened 16 August 1854 at Mount Zion Church. She is my great grandmother not the Susan Welty of Westmoreland who married a Shield.
My great grandmother lived and died in York, I have a photo of her mother Elizabeth Smeltzer Welty,Susanna is buried in York at Mount Zion # 6005001
I was going to connect her to her parents and found the error, I can't figure out who originally submitted this I formation, or why. But I am planning on connecting my family, you may want to notify the family of Susanna Welty Shields that they may have to rethink their family line. If they want they can contact me at
