My "dead people" (approx 350) listed in my Virtual Cemeteries are family members, those who married into the family, and a small handful of their relatives; they are linked together as much as possible to facilitate family navigation. The other listings, most of which are not in my Virtual Cemeteries, are ones I thought may have been family, friends, veterans, or are just interesting.
In addition to Hilts, my grand-parents' surnames include Blossum, Butler, Caskey, Conyers, Drake, FitzRandolf, Ganton, Gibbs, Gulick, Huffenus, Krizanitz, Lindsley, McWilliams, Merrylls, Smith, Trotter, Walker, Warner, Wood, and Wooden, to name a few, and Charlemagne is my 35th Great-Grandfather.
My wife Peggy and I live in Blairstown, NJ, 25 miles west of Ledgewood, parts of which are listed as "The Hilts District" in Morris County atlases from the latter part of the 19th century. There was a Hilts School in Ledgewood, and Netcong's Post Office is located on the corner of Main St. and Hilts Lane.
As an interesting side-light, two of my grand-children are direct descendants of Mayflower passengers William and Mary Brewster.
Thanks go to my third cousins Letha and Diane from whom I received a large portion of these data.
A deciphering guide to the "cousin" maze can be found here.
I invite relatives or anyone with comments or corrections to email me.
Gladys Amabilino Dear Family of Marvin Hilts: Thank you for the research and photo. Gladys Margaret (Stanbrook) Amabilino was my aunt on my dad's side. I appreciate being able to view her final resting place online. Eileen (Stanbrook) Charter
Trotter connections Hi, I too am related to the Trotters, although not as directly as you may be. My 8th GGF was married to Sarah Gibbs Trotter and I am interested in whether there are family members who may have participated in autosomal DNA testing and what it may show. Happy to discuss further @ firstname.lastname@example.org Best, Bill Martin

Thanks for all the great information you are sharing on this site!Since Theodore F. King is a cousin of yours, and I am related to the King family as well, perhaps we are cousins. The thing is- I can't figure out how I might be connected to Theodore. Can you help? My paternal grandmother is Elizabeth King. her father is Albert Austin King of Netcong. His dad is Owen W. King who lived 1834-1920. I think he might be connected to Theodore because they lived during the same time frame. Please email me at email@example.com if you can help me connect the dots. I know there is a connection because my grandmother and her siblings grew up in the house at 93 Allen St. in Netcong and always talked about the family being so important to the history of the town, Thank you in advance. You can also call if theta is easier. 484-889-6182 Katrina Nichols MacLeod
Anthony Hilts Anthony Hilts was my 5th great grandfather. I'm fascinated to learn all the details you shared on your page and thank you for that. I've been searching for more information on him and his wife, Mary.
