Before complaining about me on the Forums or to the Administrators, PLEASE READ THIS!|
Neither genealogy nor family history is part of my interest in Find A Grave, and I have not entered any of my close relations (or friends) here. I am not knowledgeable about the intricacies of public records, and prefer only to record what I see and photograph in churchyards and cemeteries. I do not feel that obituaries and census records belong here, being available elsewhere to the interested. As of July 2014 I have stopped adding to Find A Grave, but still check back frequently, and actively manage the memorials I have already entered.
Do leave a message, if you wish - I delete them when I have read and acted upon them. Alternatively, please use the 'edit' function, but do not be offended if I feel your 'edit' adds nothing to the memorial - for instance, I consider the county of birth or death alone, if it is the same as that of interment, to be redundant. I also prefer not to enter date of birth, if it appears to have been arrived at by calculation. Some other contributors get annoyed if the Public Record quarter of birth or death rather than the actual month is entered; please do not expose me to their ire; if you are uncertain just don't ask me to 'correct'!
Please DO NOT copy photos or biographies from the memorials I have entered, for whatever purpose and however attributed. I assert my copyright in all such content. Consider using the Virtual Cemetery facility or linking instead. Facts such as names, dates and inscriptions are, of course, in the public domain.
On a more positive note, I like to transfer, so if you are genuinely related to or interested in a person try asking!
