Serenity Prayer

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, The courage to change the things I can, And the wisdom to know the difference.

RE: Lila Smith
Lila's father and my grandmother were brother and sister. She is actually the last living connection I have with the past. She is a sweet precious soul. I wondered why I had never seen her father's headstone and actually went to the cemetery looking for it but without supervision and assistance, I had no luck. I would be happy to have the memorials and consider it an honor.

Thank you and I appreciate it very much.

RE: Irene Coe and Ransom Nathaniel Coe
I am not sure I understand your question. I reported a problem with finding their graves. I left a comment stating that I thought they were at Bethany-Cumberlin Cemetery in Coushatta, because the Bethany Cemetery in Marthaville did not have them. I did an internet search and found that Bethany-Cumberlin Cemetery is in Coushatta, Louisiana. I am only guessing, but I am willing to check it out next time I am there. I hope this clears up some confusion. Let me know if I can help in another way.

Re; William Jasper
Correction: Wives named Martha Ann!! I found a marriage for William Jasper Mitchell & Martha Ann Lee in Barry County, Mo, which neighbors McDonald County, where Morris Mitchell's family was living before the Civil War. It's not the actual marriage record, but index only, so I believe the date of 1855 could actually be 1865, which would make it about right with birth of 1st child on 1870 Census.

RE: William Jasper Mitchell
My 2nd Gr-Uncle William Jasper Mitchell served in the Civil War along with 5 other brothers, all in the Missouri 16th Infantry, Co. E. Their parents Morris & Sallie Mills Mitchell died in late 1860 in McDonald Co., Mo with typhoid fever, and they all five left to serve in the war after their deaths. Morris was the son of Solomon Mitchell & Nancy Broughton.
In the 1870 U.S. Census, William Jasper & Sarah are living close to his brother, (Archibald Mitchell--my 2nd Gr-Grandfather), in Union Arkansas. Archibald got into some trouble of some kind, and took his family and left Arkansas and finally settled his family in Blue Ridge, TX near his other brother, Richard Thompson Mitchell. However, William continued to live in Union, Arkansas until his death, according to census records through 1910, which had the same children's names from one census to another.
If both Wm Jasper's lived in Union and had wives named Sarah, the census records should have a different family of children listed. Let me know what you decide.
