Beverly I really wish I knew. We have traced our family back to Samuel Gourley in Ireland who was married to Catherine Dickey. His sons George and John moved to Westmoreland County, PA between 1770-1780. From what we know the Gourley's there stayed in PA for several generations. My father Kenneth H. Gourley was born in Steubenville, OH. I have not found anyone so far who came south to Tennessee. | | | Cindy Womble Billman

Yes, Carrie had a sister Rettie Burns (12 Sep 1914-10 Nov 1988 - Burns Cem.)
The 1940 census taken in Blount Co., Tn. (ED-5-29A, sht 12B) on 18 May has Carrie Burns-46, son: John Ross Webb-22, road repair, sister: Rettie Burns-42, and her dau: Billy Grace Keeter-10 living on the Wears Valley Rd.
Two sisters living together, BUT no husbands???
