I am trying to downsize the number of memorials I manage, so ask for a transfer.
NOTE; Pleaze use the Edit function on the memorial to ask questions, which identifies the person in question. I have tens of thousands of names in my records and your courtesy is much appreciated.

I honestly don't remember...sorry...
|Anonymous||RE: Emma Jane (FERRIS) MORRIS|
Thank you; I was not aware of the deposition (of course, since I did not know Silas might be her father); I will gladly add her as a child of Silas, and Augustus, also. Do you have a copy of the deposition you could send to me? I would be interested in reading it. If so, please e-mail me privately at allaboutgenealogy(at)yahoo(dot)com. Thanks so much, and, again, I apologize for my initial confusion...I cannot imagine why France was listed as Silas' POB! Not the first time I have found errors in the census or on death certificates, and I am sure it will not be the last. Thanks for the information; I will add them today.
|Anonymous||Re: Emma Jane (FERRIS) MORRIS|
I must apologize; upon further research, I am virtually convinced that the information reported on Mrs. MORRIS' death certificate, as well as the information on the census (listing her father as being born in France), was incorrect, and that her father was one Hulsey FERRIS, b. ca 1830 in NY. Whether or not he is one in the same as your Silas H. FERRIS, I am not sure, but I would like to hear more about the research that you have on Silas. The turning point I had was that I found an obituary for her brother, Augustus, and, although it did not name his parents (although his death certificate did), it stated that he had several half-brothers and sisters still living. I am still curious about their father as consistently being listed as born in France, but this will have to be put aside for now as the census information from 1850 & 1855 reveals a different story. I look forward to hearing what you have on Silas to see if he is the same man. Thank you!

Her brother, Augustus' death certificate; also, all of the censuses give her father's place of birth as France.

Thank you for updating the memorial. I actually don't know yet if he is related but I am doing research for him and I'm addicted to Find-a-grave so I looked to see if John had a memorial.
I will send you his family in email.

I am doing research on the Ferris family for my husband and found this obituary from 1900 and posted it as a picture and I hope you don't mind.

|stanley blum||Birth date for Sarah Ann Clark|
The death certificate says that Sarah Ann Clark was born on December 13th 1835. Some one may have read this to mean the day was the 15 December 1835, I don't know.
Stanley Blum (email@example.com)
Would you put the dates of birth and death from the photo to the page info?
