RE: Transfer requests of Holbrook's & Godshall's in West Laurel Hill Cemetery
Do you want all of my Holbrooks or just the memorials from West Laurel Hill?

Transfer requests of Holbrook's & Godshall's in West Laurel Hill Cemetery
Sorry I'm so late getting back to you on the transfer request. I don't know how I missed it. Anyway, I've transferred Clara Holbrook to you. Please let me know if you need others.

Thank you

NO problem at all. And if I was repeating myself, it's probably because I only just figured out how to see the replies I'd sent, so I wasn't positive what I'd said before!

Thanks for all you do for the cause.

RE: W. Laurel HIll
Sorry, not sure what you're asking. As I said, I look at the photo request list for WLH and then look through a particular section until I see one one of names on the request list. If there are other markers near them that seem to be of the same family, I photograph those, too.

Then I research the family on so that when I upload the pix to Find A Grave, I can add missing info such as full name, more specific birth and death date and place info, etc. I don't add anything unless I'm pretty confident of my research or someone who seems to have a reliable tree gives me access to theirs.

It just seems to make more sense to take the pix while I'm right there than to leave if for someone in the future to maybe do so. Or, at least, that's how I prefer to do it.

I only claim the photo request after I've taken the pix because it is just so hard to find the graves at WLH, due to the missing road signs and section or plot markers, etc. I did email WLH asking them to put the road signs back up, but they didn't respond. Maybe all cemeteries are just as bad. It's a shame they don't make it easier!

So, aside from Gertrude and Fred V. Godshall, who I said I'd photograph because they're right near the Smith monument, I can't say I'll be doing any more from that family unless they're on the request list and I happen to find them. Wish I could do more.

RE: W. Laurel HIll
Hi. I 'm not sure what you mean by, "Have you looked the last ones up in records, or just been lucky?." I just filled the photo request and then photographed of all the surrounding markers that seemed to be related. Then I did a mini tree on so I could connect them and add the info to Find A Grave.

I've added a few more since the initial upload, so maybe they'll be the ones you need. I also noticed in one the background of one of my pix two Godshall markers and figured out they are Gertrude Godshall, 17 Oct 1912--17 Oct 1912 and Fred V. Godshall, ??-1889 to Jan. 21, 1892. They are too small to use, I think. But I can take better shots next time I'm there.

I live about an hour and a half from West Laurel Hill, but I have business near there every few weeks and try to stop by WLH to take pix when I have the time.

One problem with that cemetery is that it's really hard to find anyone there. They have a lovely, detailed map, but only a very few of the streets are marked in the actual cemetery. I just go and see who I can find (from the request list) before I claim anyone since I don't want to get anyone's hopes up only to disappoint them.

RE: Adele K. #75665359
Sorry, appears to be a different Adele Kalvaitis. This one was born and stayed in Cleveland. Her parents were Andrew, born 1874 in Lithuania, and Mary Komaraskas, born 1883 in Lithuania. She was married first to Richard Stuber, no other info, and then Anthony Teck. (Tekavec). Hope your search is successful.

I don't know where the information came from to link Maria so I just deleted the link. I can't read Italian either and so far haven't had much luck with language translators. I do have a couple photos sent to Italy through a friend trying to get those translated.
The records for the cemetery burned ca. 1899 so I have been cleaning the old stones and documenting the interments as much as I am able. If you have more information on families there, I would appreciate your sharing it on the site. This is a big project and help is genuinely appreciated.
