Welcome to my profile.|
Everyone who knows me knows that I love getting to know my ancestors and have spent the better part of the last thirty years devoted to it. I enjoy walking through cemeteries and looking at memorial stones. I find it relaxing and peaceful and have met some of the nicest people through Find A Grave!
It makes me happy to help someone add a page to their history and keep the person's memory alive. I also feel that it may give a family a type of closure to know where a loved one is located.
Please, do NOT copy my photos to ancestry.com without giving me credit. Simply indicate "© 2010-2016 Chloe on Find A Grave". I'd appreciate a note letting me know you have copied them. However, do NOT post them to other Find A Grave memorials. Just let me know and I will upload them. Use for commercial purposes is not allowed under any circumstances. However, it is okay with me for you to post my photos of your friends and families headstones as long as you link it back to the Find A Grave memorial. You may use my photos on your own personal website if non-commercial, but photo credit is again appreciated.
Please use the new Edit System when possible for making any name or date changes to a memorial. You add the changes yourself and I will approve them or contact you for further clarification.
I am happy to add or correct information for you on memorials. I am somewhat liberal with transfers of anyone not related to me, but please state your specific relationship.
Please also feel free to contact me via email or post a message regarding any additional related family members. Perhaps we are cousins!
THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY
BY THELMA GREENE REAGAN
Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where other cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.
Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.
Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.
Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.
Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.
Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.
Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

Yes, you did (thankfully). Duplicates are being created containing misinformation. When family members search for "Ellen", I want them to directed to your memorial. A current Find A Grave search results are nil. Your information is accurate and I have attached the photo to your page.

Can you do me a favor? Will you edit the memorial page for Nellie N. Blauvelt to include her birth name in the header.

|Jim Allred||RE: Joseph, Emma and Ellen Goddard|
Yes, both Joseph and his father had plural families. Per the 1900 census, Joseph and his first wife, Emma (Tribe) Goddard were married about 1866. They had 10 children with 7 alive in 1900.
Ellen (Lundberg) Goddard was Joseph's second wife. They married about 1882 and had three children: Hortense Christine (Goddard) Ottinger; Fredric Lundberg Goddard; and Percival Percy Lundberg Goddard. Could not find the latter's memorial.
In 1900, Joseph was living with his first family. In 1910, just before his death, he was living with his second.

It IS a coincidence bordering on a miracle! I'm not related, but I'm happy that a family member saw the photo of the beautiful "official cupid for Los Angeles".
Thanks for all you do on Find A Grave.

Need Help! I have a older photo of the Darling dated 1919 PA., sitting in front of a house, 7 total people in pic. My last name is Darling an cannot connect to them. Found pic with old photos of my Grandmothers. Do you think we can email or I'm on Ancestry.com. I hope we're related.

Hi. Thanks a lot for your kind words. I've tried to present the famous Spanish people, particularly, in cinema and stage. My English is very bad, but with he help of translators and my own knowledge I can create some bios. About Aurorina, she is probably the daughter of Aurora and Manuel, then her full name is Aurora Portales García, sister of Dolores. Best wishes and thanks again.

I am living in Liberty, MO currently. It is north of Kansas City.
Kansas is a beautiful place. :-) A great place to grow up.
Absolutely you can use the photo. It is actually a wheat field right before harvest taken in Leavenworth county.
Thanks again for all that you do!
