Bio and Links
Bio Photo I live 50 miles East of San Francisco in Livermore, California. I have done extensive research of the MUMMA surname in America and the MOMMA surname in Europe (Germany, Holland, Sweden). I maintain a large database of the MUMMA/MOMMA families and related surnames which can be accessed on my website. I am also the coordinator of the MUMMA Surname DNA project which has identified various branches of the family and a unique ancestral surname haplotype.

You asked some very good questions. The answer to the one regarding if I was actually sure of who was buried under a headstone? No. They won't let me dig up cemeteries anymore. LOL May I suggest contacting Tawnya at .

Many Blessings!

Jacob Kershner
I found Jacob Kershner. He was moved to Ferncliff cemetary. What is there now is a stone that says Kershner but the rest has been seriously eroded. I also got a photo of the index card. The year of death is different than what you mentioned. But he is from Maryland.

Jacob Kershner
Hello Doug, I am here in Springfield OH. I went out to Greenmount Cemetary to look for Jacob Kershner. I found a Martin Kershner, but I did not see a Jacob. There is a stone nearby that has fallen, but was just too heavy for me to flip over or pickup. I may give it a try again soon, but I am sorry. Most of the stones are so eroded that there is a chance that I saw it and simply could not read it.

RE: son of Jacob and Sarah Kershner
Thank you! I have sent an 'edit' request and hopefully the creator of the son's page will update... The friend I am doing genealogy for will be delighted to know that I have actually emailed with one of her distant relatives (given the fact of your last name being 'Mumma'... :) My friend is the great-great-granddaughter of Jacob Kershner and Sarah Warble. :)

RE: Photograph of Catherine Welty
Glad you liked the photo. As for the Salem/ Trinity name... Many times as a church membership grew, the church would sell the old building to help finance a newer one elsewhere. So, the name would change.

RE: Mumma
Thanks anyway. Having something is better than having nothing.

I have been researching my father's family. And with a name like Smith/Hart, it has been hard. Today through findagrave, I backtracked and found your photos on Mumma. I saved the pictures of what are my great grandparents 5 times remove.
John and Jemima had Mary, who married Jasper Sell, who had Franklin Sell, who had Emma Sell who married Ivry Hart, who had Lilias, who married Edward Smith, who had Dale my father! Love how this all comes together.
Do you have more photos of these people? I would love to have some and share with my father's family as well as my own.
