STRANGERS IN THE BOX|
Come, look with me inside this drawer,
In this box I've often seen,
At the pictures, black and white,
Faces proud, still, serene.
I wish I knew the people,
These strangers in the box,
Their names and all their memories
Are lost among my socks.
I wonder what their lives were like,
How did they spend their days?
What about their special times?
I'll never know their ways.
If only someone had taken time
To tell who, what, where, or when,
These faces of my heritage
Would come to life again.
Could this become the fate
Of the pictures we take today?
The faces and the memories
Someday to be passed away?
Make time to save your stories,
Seize the opportunity when it knocks,
Or someday you and yours could be
The strangers in the box.
The limbs that move, the eyes that see,
These are not entirely me;
Dead men and women helped to shape
The mold which I do not escape;
The words I speak, my written line,
These are not uniquely mine.
For in my heart and in my will
Old ancestors are warring still,
Celt, Roman, Saxon, and all the dead
From whose rich blood my veins are fed,
In aspect, gesture, voices, tone,
Flesh of my flesh, bone of my bone;
In fields they tilled I plow the sod,
I walk the mountain paths they trod;
And round my daily steps arise
The good and bad of those I comprise.

Hi Monica! Long time no talk.
Was just looking over Restland things, and saw that you once worked on Acacia Lawn. I see that you have 600 memorials uploaded, but were you able to finish?
Just wondering if half or more should be photographed. :)

Dear mblkwell, You added a photo to memorial# 97290207(John W. Litzman). I just made a memorial for his wife, Alma Lierman Litzman(161468952). Would you please add the same photo to her memorial, or else give me permission to do it? I sure would appreciate the favor. Thank you very much. Monty Williams

|Clayton Raney||Memorial #101568893 correction|
Correction to my note about this memorial:
Actually Ima Jean Rial married 4 men:
1. Jackson W Fielder, #144157040, m. bef. 4-4-1940
2. Kenyon Gilbert Wellman, #97573390, m. 11-10-1966, div. 8-1-1974
3. Billy Kurtz West, #101569010, m. 1976
4. Steve Pace Ehrhardt, #139513397, m. 1996
Sorry for the confusion,
|Clayton Raney||Memorial #101568893|
Got a naming convention question. This lady started life named Ima Rial (I've submitted an edit with her parents' memorials). In 1976 she married Billy Kurtz West (#101569010), who died in 1993. Then in 1996, she married Steve Pace Ehrhardt (also his second marriage). However she was buried with her first husband (not unusual, I realize) but the gravemarker was cast with the two last names in reverse order and her maiden name was omitted. The Ehrhardt name should be replaced with Rial as her maiden name but the Ehrhardt name should be in the memorial name, I think, since it is part of the marker name. What is the correct way to handle this unusual situation?
Note that I also submitted an edit to #139513397 to associate his 2nd wife, which hopefully will also show him as her second husband.
Thanks for your help,

And thanks also for linking your Memorial for Benjamin to those of his parents, Hyman and Lena Silbert. thank

Thank you so much for taking the time to process my edit and link your Memorial for Daisy to that of her husband Benjamin F. Silbert.

Sorry to be so long in getting back you, I pulled the records that was sent to me for this cemetery, and there was a possibility that it was printed wrong.
It also stated only a Funeral home marker, at times so people wont photo them if they are not readable.
I will transfer the memorial to you as I am not related. Have a good day.
