Although I was born and raised in Ripley Co., MO, I spent my adult life in CO. Since my husband and I retired and moved back to the Ozarks of Ripley County, I've found that researching genealogy and volunteering for Find A Grave have become a very important part of my life - helping families hold on to their past and provide a record for future generations. If you want management transferred to you, I will be happy to unless it is one of my relatives. | |

 | Thanks Again! Thanks for all your help!
John Paul was my grandfather's half brother. My grandfather raised me, but I can't say he's a direct relation. I do, however, have more and more info on the Mayes family in that quadrant than I ever expected to find.
I would love to have him, but certainly don't "qualify" to have him in other words.
Thanks so much for offering; do what you think best. Also, if we are related in any sense that would be wonderful. I've spent so much time wading through the confusing Mayes families in Missouri and Arkansas! Some may have been loosely or closely related but lived in different parts of Missouri...and had common first names (head of households) like Paul or John. It's no picnic, so keep in touch if you want! | | | want2buytheworldacoke
 | John Paul Mayes @ Siloam Cemetery, Randolph Co, ARK Dee, You have made my month! The time you took to create the memorial page for my great grandfather's son (my grandfather's half brother) is a HUGE thing to me and my research since 1993.
If you'd like to see what he looked like, I've added his photo. I will also send a suggestion or extra info to you through the proper method: Father's memorial page#, children, etc.

 | Docter Emmons Tharp Thank you! Docter Emmons appears to be my ggg grandfather. I'm so happy to connect to the history which has been sparse. What did he and his wife do for a living? Did he have more than one wife? James Buchanan Tharp is my direct link. Thank you! Alison Tharp Martin | | | | [View all messages...] |
