Bio and Links
Bio Photo I hope to photograph all of the Philadelphia cemeteries (hopefully it won't take me too long - though I have some time, I'm 32 now). I'm currently working on photographing the entire Old Cathedral Cemetery, however, have had cemetery workers tell me I can't photograph the headstones. I finished about a third of it and plan to wait a bit to go back and hope they don't ban me. I have about 800 (as of 4/23/13) more photos to do, and hope to be finished that soon. I'm still working on what I photographed in that one trip, it was a large amount of pictures and I become burnt out after awhile and take a few months off. Maybe I will be brave enough to go back soon and hope not to get kicked out.

If any of the people I list are your relatives within 4 generations, feel free to either request that I transfer ownership or send me any info to update the page. I would love to transfer them since I do not have time to research everyone I list and can only go by the info on headstones and/or death records. Please do so by clicking on the edit button on their memorial and then clicking on suggest a correction. Doing it this way automatically sends me a link to the memorial and your contributor page, both of which I need to transfer. Sometimes I don't have much time to check on this site, so it may take me a bit, but I try to remember.

I make a point of checking to see if a person is listed already before creating a memorial for them and will upload photos to the already existing memorial. Sometimes I miss one or two (because the name is misspelled on original memorial or on the tombstone, the dates don't match up, etc.), if you find I have duplicated someone, let me know and I will remove it and add my photos to the original memorial.

:) Jane

Janette Strickling Daugherty
Hello, Jane. I am the great grandaughter of Mary Cyrene Daugherty and J.B. Strickling. I have not done any research on "Aunt Net". However a relative did some family history in the '80s and her papers say "Mary Cyrene, or 'Rene' as she was called, had previously married George Burkhart and had a daughter, Nettie Burkhart." So assuming we are talking about the same person, I was wondering about the name here. Did she marry a Daugherty (that was Mary Cyrene's maiden name)? If you have any birth, death or marriage papers, I would love to have a copy.

Hello Jane. No offense, I'm just trying to be helpful. Seems you created a duplicate, yours is posted in the wrong cemetery, her obit even says she's buried at West Laurel Hill right? Yours is later, but posted wrong, might be easier if you'd delete yours, save admin from having to merge them? Anyway, see the problem HERE.

Rachel Doyle Meyer # 42568016
Hi Jane,
I submitted an edit for the above. I have been heavily researching my family, even going to Chambersburg, PA as that is where above Rachel and her brother Isaac Doyle (my 3rd GGF) are from. I have documentation including Church records from Corpus Cristi Church in Chambersburg, which is where Rachel Doyle and Herman Meyer's marriage is recorded. I also have Letters of Administration from the Franklin County Courthouse in Chambersburg naming Rachel as one of 12 children of Michael Doyle who died intestate leaving 10 of those children underage in 1927 ...Rachel and my GGGGF, Isaac, being two of them. I have tracked down a few other of the siblings and have connected them here on Find A Grave. Please consider the edit I sent through the edit tab or even possibly a transfer in management of the family, including Ann Doyle # 42568265, who I believe was a sister but have not been able to trace her as well as the other family here

Stack -McKnight
I sent you an email. If you don't receive it, I thought it best to post here. I've been researching the Stack Family, which married into the McKnight family, as well as others. Teressa Stack m. David McKnight . She was the sister of my 3rd great grandmother, Maggie Stack m. John Esher. Their parents were Thomas and Ellen O'Connor Stack.
If you get a chance, please contact me,

Jeanette Buss gravestone
I sent an email but wasn't sure if it would reach you. I wish to know if the gravestone is marking the grave at section I Lot 22. My wife's grandmother is buried with Jeanette Buss in the same grave.

Trinity Luthern, Phila.
Hi Jane,
Just a heads up. I am working on the Brooks family in the Trinity Luthern Churchyard. Trying to link family members together through Pa Death Certificates, marriage and census records to triple check. So if you see a lot of edits from me you will know why.

Lawville Family of Phildelphia
Thank you for your great efforts to photograph all the Philadelphia memorials. I am looking for Eugene Lawville born on May 4, 1890 in Philadelphia to John J & Nonie Lawville, also of Philadelphia. You photographed a single monument ocntaining four Lawville members names. FIND A GRAVE has only four Lawville last names - the ones you photographed. If you come acrss Eugene Lawville I would sure like to hear from you. He was a private in WWI serving in the 318th Field Hospital in France. He maybe buried at the Cathedral where you are attempting to photograph. Regards, Thomas

Old Cathedral in Philadelphia, PA
Hi, just wanted to let you know I photographed all of Section Q & R at Old Cathedral. I see you are working on this cemetery, and didn't want you to do extra work going through these sections. Also, there is a volunteer group planning to visit this cemetery in December. If you'd ever like to join us, feel free! We have a Facebook group, Philadelphia Area Findagrave Meetups.

I recently contacted you via e-mail (, I received no reply, I believe this was the second time I have tried to contact you. If you have no interest in helping people please state it on your profile and don't expect other people to help you. If you can't tell, I am upset, I enjoy very much researching my tree and helping others in their quest, I hope you find that pleasure one day. thanks for your time
