Bio and Links
Bio Photo Currently researching Carter, Mumford, Wilson, Slaymaker, Burns & Besse. Just starting on the Lawrence side including Petersons, Drapers, & Hammonds. We like going to the little country cemeteries in Whiteside, Henry, Bureau counties. Who knew it was this addicting?

RE: Mary Fenton #116453583
Hi KLLawrence,

Abel & Irena Byam were the parents of Mary A. Byam (1858-1888) and George W. Byam (1852-1941). This Mary married Sylvester Fenton. George Byam also married a "Mary" - her full name was Mary Frances Barnes Byam (1857-1915). Caroline & Clara were the sisters to Mary A. & George W. Byam. Also, there was another brother: Stephen David Byam (1862-1929). I'm looking into an Enoc M. Byam as yet another brother (born about 1855 in Indiana) but no luck so far.

The photos are great. Yes, please post the front of the headstone, too.

Thank you so much for your help in this.

Thank you for going out in the chilly weather to take this photo, and for posting it by Memorial Day. I appreciate your documenting a soldier from the 92nd Illinois.

RE: J H Blein photo
Thanks for that info. It almost looks like a cenotaph. I did not see a GAR marker or military headstone nearby. I left a virtual flower dated 2011. I think at that time I was looking at graves at Camp Nelson National Cemetery where the dead from Perryville were removed to after the war. I will re-investigate. Thank you very much. -Janet

Thank you for taking the photo. I can read some of the inscription, but I cannot tell if it is a cenotaph or actual grave. Thanks for your efforts.

RE: Aylesworths and other pics
Sorry for the late reply.

Thanks for looking for Frank Randall 1869-1958 for me. I really appreciate your assistance with this as living in Calgary and a wife who says "NO GRAVEYARDS ON VACATION" makes this site and the wonderful volunteers who help so great!!

Would you like these transferred to you? I am not related.
